QUICK RUN deserves to have won by now and could make it 22nd time lucky after finding the frame in 10 of the last 11 outings. LADY OSIER wasn’t disgraced when beaten favourite in 4th over C&D latest. She has ample scope for improvement and should take another step forward for Paul Peter.

AGA HEAT showed plenty to like when 3rd on debut over 5f at Scottsville back in September. Back from a rest she should have learned plenty from the outing. The extra couple of furlongs can aid her cause. DEFENDER OF RIGHTS found solid market support on debut and somewhat justified it when firing up late to land 2nd over C&D. Expect her to be in the mix again for Stuart Pettigrew. 0

WONDERING STAR did enough over the mile here when opening the account to suggest he can improve enough to double down in a contest that shouldn’t take much winning. QUATTRO PASSI is in good health since joining Billy Ruiters, despite not winning since. A similar effort to his latest head 2nd over the mile here can see him right in the mix.

GRINDELWALD fared better than the raw result when 7th over 6f at Turffontein 2 days ago. If he takes his place here he can bounce back over the C&D that saw him within ¾ of a length of the front on penultimate outing. EVENING RISE does her best work over this C&D and should find her way into calculations once more.

SECRET IS OURS has found 4th in both runs since joining Paul Peter, he is a useful sort who could go better now out of barrier 1. SECRET GIVER was a strong 2nd on first attempt appearance over C&D and wouldn’t have to work too hard to go one better from the same draw.

MY TRUE NORTH was last seen 2nd by a neck over slightly further here early in the month. If he can keep good cover he can post a late offensive for a deserved maiden win. KING ARTHUR is back from a spell and has blinkers refitted. We can ignore his latest 11th here and hope he recaptures the standard we saw in July.
