Race 2 – Scottsville Racecourse
VICTOR RAIL showed the right sort of turn of foot when 4th on debut at Greyville on the Polytrack. With that under his belt he can come out swinging now dropped in trip. MCCARTNEY is better than the 7th we saw when trying blinkers at Greyville. They come off here and he demands respect for Tom Rivalland.

Race 3 – Scottsville Racecourse
KABON KAPI improved between outings and could make it 3rd time lucky following a few months rest. She has a nice draw of 3 and this looks very winnable on paper. VERMACILLI wasn’t far beaten at Greyville latest and is respected on return to turf.

Race 4 – Scottsville Racecourse
MEREDITH GREY had a lousy draw to work with when 10th of 12 at Greyville latest. Her prior form is solid and she has a nice draw of 2 here. She wouldn’t be winning out of turn here, with her rider taking a handy 3lb off. FAMILY FAVOURITE should be thereabouts once more, having found 2nd in 3 if her last 4. She is well-drawn to make a convincing bid of her own.

Race 5 – Scottsville Racecourse
TOM’S ACT makes plenty of appeal on what should be his peak outing. He wasn’t far beaten at Greyville latest and could bring more back to turf from a fair draw. EL REY VIENE won his maiden in first-time blinkers over this trip at Greyville in September. He wasn’t disgraced in 3rd since and should have plenty more in him with the gear retained.

Race 6 – Scottsville Racecourse
ONE TOO MANY has been in good heart on the AW since joining Kumaran Naidoo. He was proven over turf in the past and could make a winning return over the C&D he won over on his racecourse bow back in 2021. SEA VISTA hasn’t been much over turf but has seemingly just needed time to get the hang of things. He was a dead-heat winner on his first try at the Poly latest and could build on that back here.

Race 7 – Scottsville Racecourse
CUPID’S SONG was a fair 3rd when last seen at Greyville in November. He is much more effective over Poly but has shown improvement on this surface of late. He would be no surprise winner if building on those displays. DONQUERARI has been a bit hit and miss lately but if he arrives in the right mindset he’s quite capable at this level. His rider’s 6lb claim could prove crucial here as well as the extra furlong.

Race 8 – Scottsville Racecourse
ASPOESTERTJIE won her maiden in good style over 5f here on first outing for Carl Hewitson. She couldn’t back it up on the AW in 4th since but could make a dent coming back to turf from the best of the draws. GRUE OF ICE went down by ½ a length when 2nd over C&D back in August. She has since changed hands and could make a splash on return here out of gate 2.
