AIRA FORCE has improved measurably with each run and was last seen 2nd over this trip at Kempton on nursery bow. Off the same mark she can overcome a wide draw and score. ELONGATE made a bold bid when headed in the final furlong at Chelmsford latest. A 64 mark is fair and she can make a dent in the nursery ranks.

Race 2 – Leicester Racecourse
MENALIPPE won narrowly over C&D on penultimate outing before settling or a well-held 2nd at Kempton. She’s in good heart and while 7lb higher than that win, should give quite the account now back over turf. RIVER USK showed his best yet when upped to this trip, landing 2nd to the selection in the aforementioned C&D event last month.

POWER OF GOLD was well-backed on debut and found a most promising 2nd at Ayr. Now racing with experience and with Tom Marquand retaining the ride, the pair can go one better. CANNON ROCK is well worth a closer look on debut for the mighty Charlie Appleby. He is very well-bred and should be readied for the task at hand.

MR PROFESSOR makes strong appeal in receipt of the 3 year old allowance. He hasn’t been far beaten of late and could get back on the scoreboard on these terms. JUST FINE was a respectable 6th in a valuable Doncaster handicap last month and can make quite the dent now eased in grade.

EEH BAH GUM looks primed for a big effort as he lines up for a hat trick off 5lb higher than his narrow Haydock success. He has more to do but doesn’t look anchored just yet. ALCAZAN held on well to land a hot event at Goodwood late last month and should remain competitive off 4lb higher.

Race 6 – Leicester Racecourse
OASIS GIFT wasn’t much in his 2 outings for Andrew Balding but made marked improvement when returning a gelded 3 year old on yard bow for Clive Cox, landing the spoils by a neck at Chepstow. Now going handicapping, he can find plenty more off a 67 mark. ANGEL AMADEA caught the eye when a much-improved 2nd at Lingfield latest, denied by just a short head. A short rest can see her fresh and ready to go for gold.

CUBANISTA was denied a double when ½ a length 2nd over C&D on penultimate outing. Not great in 6th when upped to the mile again at Yarmouth, a drop back and return here off a 70 mark can see compensation awarded. TOUCHWOOD makes some appeal off a 1lb drop, having posted some fair efforts in defeat. He would not be winning out of turn but does have his work cut out for him.

SIR WINSTON has shown ample promise in both outings since his mediocre debut. He hasn’t been seen since November but Roger Varian is likely to send him out fit and ready as he tackles the handicaps off an opening 76. NIKKI’S GIRL won convincingly over C&D back in June but hasn’t been able to fully back it up. A return here off 3lb higher could see her renewed.
