Race 2 – Chepstow Racecourse
STAGE STAR showed plenty of talent in the bumper ranks, winning on debut here 12 months ago. He has since found the frame in strong fields at Ascot and Aintree and is tipped to make a winning start over hurdles. YOUNG BUTLER was well-backed on debut in a bumper at Newbury and while only managing 4th there was enough to like about the effort to see him smarten up here.

Race 3 – Chepstow Racecourse
PENNYFORAPOUND was an improving sort in the hurdle ranks and was last seen an emphatic front running winner at Bangor-on-Dee back in January. He can bring that style across to fences off a mark of 118. STARSKY went down by a nose on comeback run/chase bow at Worcester and can find compensation off a 3lb higher mark.

OFF THE PLANET showed a lot of potential on comeback run after a wind operation in 3rd at Warwick latest and could find plenty more now going handicapping and up in trip off a mark of 115. SAMTARA was last seen 2nd at Worcester and is highly respected going back up in trip. He has placed 6 times in 11 runs and is not far from opening his hurdle account.

GETAROUND was a promising hurdler last season and makes strong appeal to bring that merit over to chasing on first attempt now under the Dan Skelton banner. JEREMY PASS has chasing in his bloodline and should find plenty to like now making debut over fences after a wind operation.

MEGAUDAIS SPEED was a powerful victor here back in April and if he’s ready for comeback run the 7lb hike might not peg back his double run. JEWARI OF SAINTS is back from a wind operation and was a strong winner at Dieppe on her last run for French connections. Her UK debut was ordinary but might have needed the run.

LETTHETRUTHBEKNOWN won her bumper debut by an emphatic 8 lengths at Cork and has since changed hands for £40,000. She looks the one to be on in this one. HENRI THE SECOND is respected for Paul Nicholls who has trained winners of 2 of the last 3 iterations of this contest.
