Race 2 – Chepstow Racecourse
HONEST VIC is 1 from 2 over this trip and was a respectable 5th at Grade 2 level back in November. He has shown his worth over hurdles and could prove up to the task now going chasing. DOES HE KNOW has been tried at Grade 1 level twice and has won at Grade 2 level in his brief but fruitful hurdle career. He is another chase debutant who can make a splash.

GEORGIE DES CHAMPS returned to winning ways in huge style when landing a 3m Ffos Las hurdle double, by a neck each time. He has been rested for 113 days but can make a bold bid for a hat trick off a 2lb higher mark now over fences. SIR IVAN is respected off a mark of 141 and is proven useful when running fresh.

COEUR SEREIN defied a huge 12lb rise to land a hat trick at Huntingdon back in May. Effective when running fresh she can outrun a further 4lb rise. PASO DOUBLE has claims after a powerful Kempton win last time out. He also receives weight for age and has an immense scope for improvement but this will require his all.

STATE CROWN was a strong victor at Newton Abbot latest and the 6lb rise is manageable if he brings further improvement as predicted. HERBIERS was last sighted back in April landing a good double. His effectiveness fresh is hard to gauge but he could do enough to make a hat trick off an 8lb higher perch.

NINA THE TERRIER won on hurdle debut with plenty in hand at Warwick. Off the back of that she is the one they all need to beat here. RUNWITHTHETIDE is a winner between the flags who is definitely worth a closer look on rules debut now under the care of Dan Skelton.

STRICTLYADANCER was lacklustre when capping off last season with an 8th at Fakenham. His prior efforts were enough to have claims in this sort of event and if he’s ready to roll he can fire up. CESAR ET ROSALIE failed to fire latest but if we give benefit of the doubt then a reproduction of his penultimate Bangor-on-Dee win give him a big chance here.
