ST BARTS didn’t really get going when a lacklustre 8th on comeback over fences At Chepstow last month. Returning to hurdles where he has done little wrong in 4 starts he could retrace the winning thread. IMPHAL is respected as a reliable performer for Gary Moore, he doesn’t run a bad race over timber often and could strike off a 113 mark.

NATIVE ROBIN has been in top shape since returning in October, winning 2 of his last 3 and not being disgraced in 3rd between wins. He is a 3 time C&D winner who should be right on the premises off a 3lb higher mark than his latest win here. ESPRIT DE SOMOZA opened his chase account with 3 in hand over C&D latest and has to be respected. He will have to work to overcome the 7lb hike in order to challenge the selection.

WHYDAH GALLY found a highly progressive sort too good when 2nd at Lingfield back in November. He pulls up well fresh and could do enough over a shortened trip to get an open account for Collin Tizzard who has his string in good order. MIDNIGHT MIDGE is a C&D winner who makes a return to timber after a winless but promising handful of chase efforts.

ERAGON DE CHANAY didn’t quite see out the trip when a nonetheless decent 5th in the Sussex National at Plumpton latest. Off a 2lb lower mark and dropped a couple of furlongs, we could see Gary Moore’s charge get a deserved chase win. VELASCO showed serious mettle when runner-up at Taunton on 2nd outing over fences. Despite the 4lb rise, we can see Tom Lacey’s charge go well.

Race 6 – Wincanton Racecourse
FAVORI DE SIVOLA returned from a long break and wind surgery to narrowly win his last couple including over slightly shorter here. Despite the further 6lb rise he seems to do just enough to get the job done so the hat trick looks very doable. DESTINEE ROYALE was tracking for a possible win at Cheltenham before falling 5 out. That was her comeback run and Venetia William’s mare could bounce right back with a clear run.

GETAWAY TOM is an interesting debutant for Tom Lacey after being picked up for €72,000. He sports good relations in this sphere and is under the eye of a team who do well in the bumpers.
