CAPE BOUQUET has some useful turn of foot and could punish the rest if the pace is sluggish. She has landed both her career successes here and could find the extra couple of furlongs to her liking today. ROYAL MAZARIN could prove the foil, especially if the pace is fast enough. She has been coming to the boil since joining Joey Soma.

STEPPING OUT wasn’t able to get into gear when 4th over the mile at Turffontein latest. He can leave that behind him now eased in trip if he can make a better start. STROKE OF MERCY also was below par when 8th latest. His prior form has seen him 3rd in all 3 outings and he is worth another go.

LIVERPOOL LEGEND has been in good form of late but hasn’t won since September. A drop to 9f could aid her cause and she deserves more success than she’s had. LIDL MISS SUNSHINE reopened the account last month with ½ a length in hand at a nice 28/1 price. She can back it up from pole position.

KIND JUDY returns from a short rest and has been in good form all year, notching a few wins here and never being too far from the action. She can make a wining return for the Barend/Vosloo team. FRANKLIN returned from her own break with a convincing win over 10f here. She can remain competitive despite more to do at the weights and a wide draw.

IN THE BEGINNING showed a lot to like when home narrowly but convincingly on debut at Turffontein. She takes on a much stronger field this time but could have plenty of improvement to come here. AGA HEAT wasn’t disgraced in 9th at Listed level latest when tried in a visor. It stays on here and she can tap into the experience and her solid earlier form to be a contender.

DANCING DORA has won 4 in a row, with 3 coming cosily. The latest leg came 2 days ago and if she takes her place she could strike again while the iron is red-hot. ROSE VELVET has been in fine form since joining the Van Vuuren team. She should be fresh for a break and could relish the return to 6f.
