MARDI GRAS has been doing good work without winning of late and has found some improvement from refitted blinkers. He demands respect under top weight with the shortened trip looking ideal. GOODTIME GUY wasn’t far beaten when 7th at Greyville latest following issues in the run. He’s better off at the weights and has some time to freshen up. Watch the betting here.

BIG GUY has found 2nd in both runs since being fitted with blinkers. They stay on and he gets the benefit of pole position. CLAP OF THUNDER has been doing fair work in defeat but has a lousy draw to overcome. He can’t be ruled out.

SILK GARDEN has shown some promise to date and might benefit from a drop back to 9f. Blinkers are retained and she might be able to muster a competitive effort here. KARIN’S LEGACY has proven popular the last twice and could find the extra gear now trying a longer trip.

APACHE FIGHTER showed marked improvement when ¾ of a length 3rd over this trip at Turffontein. He can go a couple better with that under his belt. SASSY was 5th that day but has notched a good 2nd here since. She’s an honest sort who wouldn’t be a surprise winner.

LEGISLATE’S DANCE was denied a hat trick by a neck at Turffontein in September. He has since changed yards and could find immediate compensation on return to a course he is unbeaten at. SPIN DOCTOR is better than the 8th we saw here latest. His prior efforts are solid and he’s expected to bounce back after a spell.

CHYAVANA might have needed the run when 6th at Turffontein latest. Her earlier trip form is solid and the return could be all he needs. BONNAROO has been beaten by the selection by a neck in the past. She’s much better off at the weights and could be in a spot to turn it around if ready for the comeback.

ROZARA has been in excellent form all year, notching a convincing hat trick before landing in the money in all 6 outings since. A fair 3rd at Turffontein on comeback from a few months off, she should find herself thereabouts once more. BLINDEDBYTHELIGHTS won with an impressive 4 in hand on debut back in February. He had to settle for 2nd on double bid in March and hasn’t been seen since. He is now under Fabian Habib and could prove well-primed for today.

SAMOA rediscovered form when 2nd over C&D 3 weeks ago. She shouldn’t have to dig too deep to go one better here. MYTHICAL DREAM is an obvious player, shooting for a mighty hat trick on her 3rd start to date. This will require more of her but she looks up to task.
