Race 2 – Turffontein Racecourse
BATIK couldn’t see out the full 10f when 5th at Vaal when back up in trip. A return to the mile could be enough to see her return to her earlier standard. CAPE LIGHTS has improved markedly for each run and was last seen ¾ of a length 2nd over C&D. She would be no surprise winner if sticking to the plotted course.

ATLANTIC CITY has found his way onto the podium in all 6 starts since being fitted with blinkers. He has had some issues of late but if all clear today he could make it 18th time lucky. PHANTOMOFTHEFOREST sharpened markedly for the fitting of blinkers of his own when 3rd over 7f here latest. Another furlong of run might be enough to see him challenge.

Race 4 – Turffontein Racecourse
MIKE’S CHICK went down by ½ a length over C&D when returned from a 3 month spell. Fitter for the effort, he can gain due compensation. BELLEVARDE hasn’t been seen since a narrow success over 9f here back in July. She has turned up well fresh before so would not be winning out of turn.

SUPREME DANCE couldn’t live up to market favouritism when 7th on comeback run over 9f here. Only beaten a length and a half, he was far from disgraced. He can turn things around with many of these rivals. THE KOP won the aforementioned 9f event at the start of the month. He can defend his streak here but does have a bit more work to do.

ROMEO’S MAGIC notched a ½ length success over C&D back in September before having to settle for 6th when dropped in trip. He could get right back on top now back up in trip from a good draw. VENGEANCE FOREVER is well worth a closer look now under the De Kock banner. Any money his way must be taken very seriously.

SOUND OF WARNING needed the run when 9th of 10 at Vaal on comeback from 103 days off. She won over C&D back in November and could be fit enough to get her way while giving away weight. FULL VELOCITY is respected as a stablemate to the selection who was last seen scoring over C&D in June. She could pick up where she left off but may well need the run.

RULE BY FORCE won well on debut at 20/1 odds over 6f here last month. Another furlong of run and the benefit of the experience could see him remain unbeaten for Joey Soma. POWER RANGER has been doing good work in defeat since joining Roy Magner and is looking due another win.

ARIVIDICIO has yet to finish outside the frame in 5 starts to date, including a 6f win at Scottsville last month. Once more out of pole position, he wouldn’t have to dig too deep to get his way here. KALAHARI BLUE is a highly progressive sort who should relish the extra furlong as he guns for a 3rd win in 4 starts.
