TRIED AND TRUE has been doing good work in defeat of late over 6f and could be ready to bounce back now tackling 7f again. Blinkers seem to be having an effect and are retained here. SOUTHERN STYLE has found some minor money the last thrice and has some useful local form to work from now back up in trip.

FLYING FIRST CLASS could be a tough nut to crack here following a couple of narrow defeats following a C&D win in July. She’s in her element and hasn’t run a bad race of late. ZAZU could be the danger following a convincing 12f win here in July. She receives some handy weight from rivals and could notch a nice double following a spell.

SILK GARDEN gets a vote coming back down in class after a lacking 6th over 7f here. Now up in trip and with her local debut out of the way she could carve forward from pole position. SASSY is getting into swing and shouldn’t be a maiden much longer after a good 2nd over 10df here earlier in the month

CLAP OF THUNDER hasn’t been disgraced in defeat over 10f here the last twice. He found the frame 4 times running here prior to those efforts and could benefit from a drop to 9f. LORD OF LIGHT has accounted for the selection a couple of times, including when 2nd here at the start of the month. He has more to do at the weights but can continue to build for his own maiden success.

Race 6 – Turffontein Racecourse
CRIMSON PRINCESS has struck some solid form since joining Ashley Fortune. She renews her rivalry with PATON’S TEARS but benefits from barrier one and some pull at the weights, it may well be enough to get her up here. PATON’S TEARS is likely to give another honest account. She isn’t the fastest out of the gate but more than compensates with late speed and can have her way despite the wide draw.

Race 7 – Turffontein Racecourse
TUSCAN WINTER is in red-hot form having won 3 of his last 5 starts and was denied a hat trick by just half a length over 7f here. A drop back in trip can see him bounce right back despite heading up in class. EXPEDITIONER returns from a short spell after a fair trip win on the AW here. He has been excellent since learning much on debut and can press his claims here on return to turf.

CHYAVANA made a good impression on comeback run when 3rd over 5f here. Back up in trip we could see him notch a 3rd win in ideal conditions. DROP OF TIME opened the account readily on start three and could have much more to come now the penny has dropped.
