Race 2 – Newmarket Racecourse
ROBJON won well on debut but hasn’t been able to add to the tally in 7 subsequent appearances. Still, he’s found the frame in 5 of those outings and looks the sort who could strike following a pipe-opener at Kempton late last month as he returned from being gelded. TOLSTOY won on debut and was sent in to the big leagues off the bat. He managed a decent enough efforts in defeat in both the Coventry and the July Stakes at G2 level. Last seen home with 5+ in hand at Leicester over this trip back in October, he could make his presence felt on comeback off a 96 mark.

FRANCESCO CLEMENTE gets the nod on debut for the Gosden boys with the mighty Frankie Dettori in the plate. He is a son on Dubawi and looks set to make a strong first impression. SECRET STATE is a half-brother to the selection and looks the clear danger on his own debut for Charlie Appleby with William Buick booked.

Race 4 – Newmarket Racecourse
EBRO RIVER is a G1 winner, the only one in this line up. He hasn’t banked on that since being upped to 7f but a return to 6f, the 3 year old allowance, and a drop in grade can see him bounce back for Hugo Palmer. JUMBY demands respect lining up for a hat trick but both wins have been narrow and this is a big up in task. Still, he could find the necessary improvement to land a blow here. Check the betting.

Race 5 – Newmarket Racecourse
NATIVE TRAIL is unbeaten in 4 outings, including thrice at Group level including 2 Group 1 events. He’s a powerful sort for Charlie Appleby and looks almost certain to take this out on the way to the 2000 Guineas. STAR OF INDIA can chase home or maybe even challenge the selection, after a pleasing start to life under rules when home at Leopardstown. Aidan O’Brien is known saddle one to compete with the best so he can’t be underestimated.

Race 6 – Newmarket Racecourse
ALDOUS HUXLEY won emphatically at short odds on debut over this trip at Kempton late last month. With that run to work from and the servicers of Frankie Dettori in the irons, he has a strong chance of staying unbeaten. NEW LONDON looks the challenger, for the power team of Charlie Appleby and William Buick. He held off some solid opponents over C&D when edging success by a neck and could throw down the gauntlet.

Race 7 – Newmarket Racecourse
TYLOS concedes weight all round following a deserved win at Wolverhampton after rattling the crossbar in his first couple of outings. The form of the win has been franked by the runner up filling the same role at Listed level in Saudi Arabia. TRANQUIL NIGHT lines up for a hat trick on handicap bow and could make the most of an 84 mark and William Buick’s ride.
