Race 1 – Haydock Racecourse
ONE FOR YOU posted a fair effort in defeat when attempting chasing earlier in the month on first touting for Adam West. He reverts to timber where he has shown ample promise and can make a dent off a 112 mark with his rider taking another 3lb off. POST CHAISE was a nice 3rd on comeback run at Kelso. He is now paired with Toby Wynne and his 6lb claim. Those terms and race fitness can see him competitive.

Race 2 – Haydock Racecourse
NO BUT I WILL made a pleasing start to life over timber when 3rd at Kelso. A bit more run and the benefit of that experience can see him make plenty of progress. MERVEILLO won at Listed level in his decent flat career. He hasn’t been seen since May but could make a dent now going hurdling for Jonjo O’Neill.

Race 3 – Haydock Racecourse
BEAUPORT is a useful hurdler who has landed on the frame in 8 of 9 runs, including 3 wins. He brought his momentum to fences when home by ½ a length in a Listed event at Carlisle a month ago. He could prove too good in a 3 horse field. BALLYGRIFINCOTTAGE is a possible danger for Dan Skelton. He was a good 4th in a Grade 1 at Cheltenham in March and could make a winning chase debut in receipt of weight from the selection.

Race 4 – Haydock Racecourse
NEMEAN LION was a fantastic 9+ length winner at Hereford on debut over this trip 15 days ago. He should have much more in store and can defy a penalty here. LOOKAWAY notched a nice double in his first 2 starts in the bumpers, including at Grade 2 level. He was a good 3rd on hurdle bow at Warwick and can come forward plenty more.

Race 5 – Haydock Racecourse
FORTIFIED BAY gets the vote despite not having been seen since May 2021. He has struck the crossbar in both outings at this course and has defied an absence of 721 days to score in the past. He can show the others he still has plenty of ability. CHAMBARD has won his last 3 but hasn’t been seen since March. He also has defied absences in the past and could make a dent but is up 7lb on his last leg.

Race 6 – Haydock Racecourse
DJELO stormed home with 7+ in hand on UK/yard bow at Exeter 10 days ago. Venetia Williams has her string in top shape and he can go very well once more, despite a 7lb penalty. JUNGLE JACK won his first 3 before landing 2nd at Bangor-on-Dee back in March. He hasn’t been seen since but can still make a splash here for Don McCain.
