WINTER MELODY has found the frame in both outings to date, including when denied into 2nd by a neck on debut. Both efforts came over 7f on the turf and now shifting to AW we could see further improvement. TIDE IS HIGH has shown glimpses of promise over this surface and was a career-best 3rd over C&D last month. We could see her enter the fray in a moderate field.

EVENTIDOR came back from a spell to show his best yet when 2nd over the extended 9f here. Now down in trip he could go one better if he can overcome a lousy draw. KHULUMA NATHI didn’t impress in his first couple of outings but returned a gelding last month and posted a much-improved 3rd. Another outing could see him make up even more ground.

ROTUNDA has shown plenty to like in both runs to date and now upped in trip and tackling the AW we could see Peter Muscutt’s filly confirm that promise. SPARKLING FLAME has accounted for the selection in the past but has ample experience to draw from and is somewhat exposed. She is consistently in the money and should bring home some more here.

CAESURA is a 3 time local winner who is effective across both AW and turf. Launching from pole positon with Anton Marcus in the irons should see him one they all need to account for. TIGER TANK should be equally competitive and possibly more popular, reunited with S’manga Khumalo as they seek to double down over C&D.

YATA opened the account over this trip at Scottsville by a neck but had the situation well in hand. Now she’s tasted success she can bring her momentum back to the AW where she has given glimpses of promise. LUNA ECLIPSE had issues in the barriers but it didn’t have much impact as she tore up by 5 lengths to score at 33/1 over C&D on AW bow. Expect a big follow up effort from a similarly good draw.
