DECLARE WAR was doing decent work prior to a rest, she has shaped up to be a progressive sort. Last seen 2nd in April she’s capable of going one better here. CAPE PRINCESS is a hit and miss sort but took a big step in the right direction when 2nd when returned to turf over C&D. If she can bring the standard back to Polytrack she’s a big chance.

Race 2 – Greyville Racecourse
SUN BLUSHED put a fair debut effort to work when scoring on 2nd start. Connections sent him up to G3 level where he was beaten into 2nd by a short head. He can gain due compensation in much calmer waters, with the extra furlong possibly ideal if taking to the Poly. GLADATORIAN is a fellow G3 runner up and has since found a very credible 5th at G1 level. He’s back from 102 days off and has been gelded in the break. These two can battle it out in what could be a very exciting race.

Race 3 – Greyville Racecourse
RAVEN’S SWORD has done all his best work on the Polytrack and gets the vote out of pole position. His latest 2nd over slightly further reads well and he can shed the maiden tag on attempt 10. JOHNNY’S HOPE is of fair interest now trying the synthetic after back to back 3rds over 7f on turf at Scottsville. Watch the betting here.

Race 4 – Greyville Racecourse
WAVE WARRIOR was a front-running winner over C&D latest. A similar effort on handicap bow could be hard to peg back out of gate one. GENTLEMAN’S WAY has been coming to the boil nicely, finding the frame the last twice and beaten by under a length in both.

IRON CHEF failed to fire when dropped to 7f following a narrow 9f success here. The mile should be adequate trip for a bounce back. VENTUROUS was beaten by just a neck when 3rd over 7f here in June and should have something up her sleeve after a few months to freshen up.

ALTO ALEX has shown all her best on this surface over the 7f trip range. She’s dropped a furlong here but seems to have learned enough to be a leading contender. MISS MAGICIAN has come close a few times over 5f here and isn’t out of it. She makes fair each-way appeal on these terms.

AFRICAN SKYLINE is something of a local specialist who can bounce back from a Scottsville 3rd on return to ideal surrounds. He loves the Polytrack and doesn’t often run a bad race over it. PROUD MASTER is in top shape, winning 2 of his last 3. He loves the Poly and could have much more in store, especially if getting the pace he needs.

TWICE THE TRIP dictated the pace at Scottsville latest, clinching success by ¾ of a length. She’s capable of backing it up if taking to the AW. STAR CHOICE is a last start winner who has done all her best on the Polytrack. She’s capable of doubling up at the expense of the selection.
