Race 2 – Greyville Racecourse
TRITON is arguably more effective over turf, but has given a glimpse of potential on this surface when 3rd over 9f on penultimate outing. A consistent type with the best of the draws we could see him continue his ascendancy on this surface. CROWN PLAZA hasn’t impressed in 4 starts on the Highveld but this sort of track could bring a bit more out of her.

MARIA’S WORLD has found fair improvement since being fitted with blinkers and now tackling the AW for the first time could strike from pole position. GREEN SLEEVES sharpened up significantly in her second career outing when 3rd over 6f here. She was crying out for more run and is afforded it today.

TWICE THE FLIGHT is respected returning to his winning C&D under the powerful combination of Michael Miller and Serino Moodley. THE APPEAL was plunged out of his depth when sent off over 12f here over turf. Back over the mile from a solid raw we can see an immediate recovery.

ROY’S COMMAND is a somewhat inconsistent performer but now drawn well and paired with S’manga Khumalo we should see a compelling account over an ideal C&D. RUNNING RIFLES has been doing excellent work here over turf and could have further improvement now sent off over the Polytrack from a decent draw.

Race 6 – Greyville Racecourse
GALABIER tore it up with 4 in hand over C&D when sent on his sole Polytrack run. A return to the scene of that triumph with a good draw of 3 can see him 2 from 2 on this surface. FINAL OCCASION was coming to the boil nicely in late 2021. If he isn’t in need of the outing we could see him pick right up.

SIKHULU wasn’t suited to 7f when beating none home over turf here. We can see him bounce back now dropped back to ideal trip range and making just second attempt at the Poly. CAPE EAGLE won well on 2nd outing over this trip at Scottsville. With the best of the draws, he can double down on the Poly provided he doesn’t need a pipe-opener.

GREEN DREAM is often not far from the action and returns to the C&D of her maiden win. She has a wide draw but plenty of scope for improvement in these ranks. ROYAL KITTY has struck the crossbar the last thrice here and now over 6f could finally have her consistency rewarded out of barrier 1.
