CAN COL landed 5th in his first 3 outings before the fitting of blinkers eked enough out of him to find 3rd. A drop to 7f might work well to get Sharon Kotzen’s colt out of the maiden ranks. INDY VIEW has found 2nd in 2 of 3 runs to date and was last seen 2nd over the mile here by ¾ of a length. He can give his stablemate a nice bit of competition.

Race 2 – Fairview Racecourse
DREAM STAR has improved with each run to date and while well-beaten in 3rd over C&D it represents tangible progress. She’s getting the hang of things and can improve on that effort here. BAVARIAN JET sharpened significantly to find 2nd by ½ a length when upped to this trip in late June. Gavin Smith’s filly can battle her way to success here.

ABSOLU NOIR was coming to the boil nicely before scoring over this trip on the turf track here a week ago. Now the penny has dropped we could see a nice double if able to bring the standard across to the Poly. VERIFIED has progressed well since being fitted with blinkers, last seen 2nd by a short head over 7f here. He can go better but will have a bit of work to do.

PRINCESS DEB’S was a pleasing 18/1 winner over slightly shorter on the turf track here late last month. She can back it up before the assessor catches up. FEARLESS KITTY is worth a look on local debut now making first start for Alan Greeff. She has demonstrated aptitude for the Poly and could make a splash.

TRAVEL MASTER hasn’t been great in both starts since joining team Greeff. A shift to the AW may well spark some improvement from an undoubtedly capable gelding. VEGAS GOLD was a pleasing winner over 5f on the turf latest and is a fair chance for a double.

CANE LIME ‘N SODA is shaping up to be something of an AW specialist. He has been in a nice pocket of form and made a fair comeback in 3rd after 3 months off, encountering some issues in the run. With the bugs ironed out and improved fitness we can see a big effort from Gavin Smith’s charge. VIDA FUTURA hasn’t been great the last twice but was a good 2nd over the extended 6f on this track in May and is pleasing reunited with S’manga Khumalo.

Race 7 – Fairview Racecourse
CHLORIS is a fair one dimensional type but is no less talented, posting some strong efforts in defeat before reopening the account over the mile over this surface. If she can get her head in front early she’s capable of backing up the success. PINK LEGACY is of interest on comeback run, she was out of steam when last seen and she’s capable of bouncing right back to her high standard.

ANCESTRAL PRAYER has struck the crossbar in both runs since joining Alan Greeff and could go one better now tackling the AW for the first time. VAR’S BOY is deserving of more success than his 3 career victories. He’s held his own in better events and can make his way onto the podium.
