EMILY’S SPIRIT was very impressive on debut when 2nd to a red-hot rival. She didn’t quite back it up at Listed level since but should find this a much more manageable task.

DUKE OF ORANGE made a positive impression in his first couple of appearances since joining Gavin Smith before a step backward over the mile here. A drop back in trip and the reapplication of blinkers could see him tap back into that promise. KNAVE OF DIAMONDS opened the account nicely over C&D on Friday and if he takes his place here will no doubt have plenty more to come.

BABYITSCOLDOUTSIDE has improved with each run to date but still seems to have some work to do. TRACY’S PRINCESS makes appeal in new surrounds making first outing for Sharon Kotzen and is well-worth a closer look.

JACK IN THE BOX has found the frame the last twice and a drop in trip today might be enough to see him open the account on 15th attempt. JOE HARMAN has an ongoing rivalry with the selection and has definitely found improvement since joining Gavin Smith. These two look likely to battle it out once more.

PARIS OPERA is a very useful Alan Greeff filly who works well with Greg Cheyne. The pair have won their last two engagements together but this will take a bit more as they’re poorly drawn. PAM’S PRINCESS has rattled the crossbar the last twice and looks a sort who is on the way to another win for Juan Nel. She’s decently drawn and could put the final foot forward here.

LINE OF POWER landed a C&D hat trick late last year and hasn’t been disgraced in a couple of runs since. A strong pace here can see him bounce right back in ideal surrounds for powerful connections. UNDISCLOSED failed to fire over turf latest but always warrants respect on this surface. The trip might be a bit on the short side but he’s no less capable of making his presence felt.

GREAT GUY isn’t the most consistent sort for Cliffie Miller but could be entering another pocket of form after being denied by a neck on the turf here latest. JET MIRAGE has placed thrice in four outings over this surface and looks quite capable of converting those efforts into a victory.

BUTTERCUP has unlocked fair improvement since being fitted with blinkers and changing yards. Her sole victory has come over a similar C&D and she’s looking a strong option in this sort of field. PERFECT ANGEL isn’t the most prolific sort having won once in 18 outings but she’s found a respectable 3rd the last twice and might be winding up for a bold bid.
