1 – CUSACK

Barrier: 6 Trainer: Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young Jockey: Craig Newitt

Speedy winner on debut at Ballarat, has landed a couple of local trials since. Decent chance at a nice price. Good Each-Way bet.

2 – MISHANI WARFARE

Barrier: 7 Trainer: Les Ross Jockey: James Orman

Notched a nice double earlier on before weakening late at Doomben. Unlikely to land a blow but can’t be ruled out entirely.

3 – STUPENDO

Barrier: 19 Trainer: Danny O’Brien Jockey: Craig Williams

Pleasing winner on debut at Flemington, solid effort rattling crossbar here latest. Fighting fit and has plenty of potential. Worth considering at a price.

4 – MISHANI SPARTAN

Barrier: 3 Trainer: Les Ross Jockey: Jackson Morris

Has won both starts to date, including at juicy $61 odds on debut at Ipswich. Fired up late from the rail to score here latest, could wrangle a scalping. Strong EW contender.

5 – GOLDEN ARTIE

Barrier: 17 Trainer: Bryan & Daniel Guy Jockey: Ben Thompson

Couldn’t land a blow at Sunshine Coast but made up for it strongly when taking down a clever rival at Doomben. Another player at a nice price.

6 – MISHANI PERSUASION

Barrier: 21 Trainer: Les Ross Jockey: Rachel King

Wasn’t terrible finding the frame at Sunshine Coast, but this is a tougher task. Excuses for last time when saddle came loose. Could bolt up but highly unlikely, could eke out a place?

7 – THELWELL

Barrier: 5 Trainer: Sharryn Livingstone Jockey: Justin Stanley

Won in the heavy at Sunshine Coast latest, could enter the fray if weather deteriorates. Keep in mind until day of.

8 – HEROIC SON

Barrier: 9 Trainer: Peter & Will Hubert Jockey: Adin Thompson

Reliable sort who likes to race prominently. Unlikely to be able to corner this one but worth considering for exotics.

9 – COOLANGATTA

Barrier: 13 Trainer: Ciaron Maher & David Eustace Jockey: James McDonald

The one they all have to beat, might end up odds on so if you like her see if you can get at least $2. Was a stellar debutant winning the Gimcrack, backed it up in B. J. McLachlan. Could make it 3 from 3 and is likely to put a strong foot forward.

10 – SOARING AMBITION

Barrier: 20 Trainer: Annabel Neasham Jockey: Tommy Berry

Strong late work to claim the Wyong Magic Millions on debut. Not disgraced in 2nd at Doomben since, should be right amongst it.

11 – RUSSIAN CONQUEST

Barrier: 4 Trainer: Peter & Paul Snowden Jockey: Kerrin McEvoy

Took out the Max Lees in style on debut before backing it up with authority at Randwick latest. Could absolutely get away with this one.

12 – MISS HELLFIRE

Barrier: 11 Trainer: Peter & Paul Snowden Jockey: Tim Clark

Good local win here latest, a similar effort will see her a massive player. Definitely include in any exotics.

13 – SNEAKY STARTER

Barrier: 10 Trainer: Mick Mair Jockey: Tiffani Brooker

Couple of nice Sunshine Coast wins to work from but this is a massive ask. Look elsewhere.

14 – PERFECT MISSION

Barrier: 14 Trainer: Michael Costa Jockey: Andrew Mallyon

Has been consistent both here and at Sunshine Coast in 4 runs to date. Has a bit to find but definitely could dig deep and land plenty of blows.

15 – SNITCAT

Barrier: 2 Trainer: Gary Portelli Jockey: Jason Collett

Wildcard, went hard to chase home winner at Randwick on Boxing Day. Has potential to swoop in late if conditions are suited. Not the worst flutter, pick of the roughies.

16 – BRIGHT BLUE SKY

Barrier: 16 Trainer: Jamie Richards Jockey: Brett Prebble

Bolted up on debut in New Zealand, wasn’t disgraced in 4th at Doomben. Could find her feet in the run. Probably warrants inclusion in any exotics.

17 – SWISS EXILE (EMERGENCY)

Barrier: 1 Trainer: Annabel Neasham Jockey: TBD

3rd to the favourite in McLachlan on penultimate outing. Struggled here latest but entitled to take in stride. Could find enough improvement to crack the frame.

18 – SPANISH ANGELS (EMERGENCY)

Barrier: 18 Trainer: Les Ross Jockey: TBD

Remains a maiden, doesn’t have a lot to like here and if taking her place isn’t likely to land a blow. No good.

19 – REVOLUTIONARY MISS (EMERGENCY)

Barrier: 8 Trainer: Peter & Paul Snowden Jockey: TBD

Went down by a very narrow margin when sent off at $61 on debut at Kensington. Should benefit with that under her belt. Could stretch into a placing if she makes the cut.

20 – WILD BOTANICA (EMERGENCY)

Barrier: 15 Trainer: Kacy Fogden Jockey: TBD

Likes the slop, consider if weather permits and she takes her spot but otherwise look elsewhere.

21 – RUSSIAN WARRIOR (EMERGENCY)

Barrier: 12 Trainer: Alan Chau Jockey: TBD

Managed to open the account here on penultimate run but this is just too much.
