PRAYUPONASTAR had some issues in the run when 6th on debut over C&D a fortnight ago. She can come forward plenty with that under her belt. HEART AND MIND was hampered when 6th at Turffontein latest and could bounce back to the standard that saw her 2nd over C&D prior.

TRE AMICI has proven costly to follow but has yet to land outside the money, including narrow 2nd placings the last twice. He can make amends and have his consistency rewarded here. MOTHER OF PEARL is a newcomer of note for the Van Vuuren string. Watch the betting here.

SAVE THE QUEEN was a fair enough 6th on debut over 6f at Turffontein. She can make plenty of improvement now afforded another furlong. TURNTHEBEATAROUND is worth a market check on debut in a fairly weak contest.

Race 4 – Vaal Racecourse
ARCHIMEDES was a surprise runner-up on debut at huge 40/1 odds over the extended 6f here. He can improve on that now given more yardage but don’t expect that price. FOG BANK found a good 2nd on debut to a useful rival over C&D. That was back in March but he could make a dent here.

FUTURE PEARL has a hat trick on the line and shows no signs of slowing down. He receives weight from the top weight and is out of a workable draw of 4. MERIDIUS is a danger back down in grade after struggling at Grade 2 level when tried in blinkers at Turffontein. A drop in yardage can aid his cause.

Race 6 – Vaal Racecourse
TRUST THE FIRE can go one better than his latest C&D 2nd if allowed to get into gear. He has placed 7 times over C&D and is deserving of another career success here. PHINDA MZALA can bridge some of the gap for a 2 length beating in September now receiving weight and can come out swinging.

Race 7 – Vaal Racecourse
ROZARA hasn’t been far beaten of late and makes plenty of appeal despite weathering top weight. She has a nice draw and can make a dent over her preferred C&D. MYTHICAL DREAM won her first 3 outings in good style before having to settle for 3rd when beaten ¾ of a length. She should remain competitive and could begin a new unbeaten streak here.

Race 8 – Vaal Racecourse
ON CUE loves a speedy pace and if she can get in front can prove a tough nut to crack. She hasn’t been disgraced in defeat of late and can put in her best toward the finish line. MELECH kicked things off with a strong 2nd on debut over this trip at Turffontein before going one better there late last month. He can back it up here if he doesn’t mind a bit of cut in the ground.

FLAG BEARER hit the front and stayed there over C&D late last month. He should have more to come off the back of that pleasing display with his rider’s 9lb claim likely to once again prove crucial. RATATONGA ROSE is in a rich pocket of form of late and should be thereabouts once more. Denied a hat trick by ½ a length over 9f here she has a wide draw to deal with but can land plenty of blows.
