Race 2 – Kempton Racecourse
QUEEN OF NAVARRE wasn’t much in a couple of maiden races to kick things off but she made up for it when 2nd at 18/1 odds at Lingfield earlier this month. Now going handicapping off a 72 mark we can see her put another foot forward. LUCKYBOYLOVELYWIFE was a convincing enough winner at Beverley over this trip latest and could have more to come under penalty, with his rider taking 5lb off.

BELLAZZO found the pace a bit too much on debut but did good late work to land 2 lengths 6th at Windsor. With an extra furlong of run and that run to work with, we can see him make his bid. HADLEY PARK is respected for George Boughey, a newcomer of good breeding and paired with the mighty William Buick.

EXPLICIT has won his last couple in selling company and comes down in class to shoot for a nice hat trick. Mark Johnston’s colt has Hollie Doyle in the irons and gets to line up free of any penalty. NEW DEFINITON has landed 2nd in both runs under rules and is expected to continue the standard here.

WESTERN WRITER made it 3rd time lucky when ½ a length victorious at Chelmsford on comeback run when fitted with a tongue-tie. Now going handicapping with the headgear retained, a 79 mark looks very workable. PERSIAN ROYAL was too keen when 6th on handicap bow at Nottingham latest. A drop in trip following a rest might see him return to the standard we saw in his early days.

NAJEEBA has won her last 3 in style, including latest with 4+ in hand. The assessor has handed her a further 7lb rise but she’s looking hard to oppose here. JASMINE JOY is proving hard to win with but has plenty of ability. She’s capable of chasing the selection home here.
