Race 1 – Cheltenham Racecourse
WHATSUPWITHYOU is up 2lb for a narrow defeat by a subsequent winner into 2nd at Fontwell late last month. This looks ideal for him to gain compensation, with Lilly Pinchin’s larger claim removing the hike. CAPTAIN MORGS is interesting on comeback run and had been doing decent work late last year, including a C&D 3rd in October.
Top Tip – WHATSUPWITHYOU (9)
One to consider – CAPTAIN MORGS (3)

MANOFTHEMOUNTAIN took this out in style last year and looks well-placed to defend the title. He’s off 5lb higher this time and hasn’t been disgraced since, despite being well-beaten in 8th at Kempton on comeback run. COOLE CODY is a reliable sort who has 3 C&D wins to draw from. He’s up 7lb after taking out the Plate here at 22/1 and could take another leap forward here.
Top Tip – MANOFTHEMOUNTAIN (7)
One to consider – COOLE CODY (2)
Race 3 – Cheltenham Racecourse
CALL OF THE WILD has a hat trick on the line after notching a double by increasing margins. An up in trip off 8lb higher might be the ticket for Alan King’s gelding. DATSALRIGHTGINO hasn’t been able to finish the last twice but he returns to the scene of his neck victory over 17f back in December. He was in top shape back then following a wind operation and could recover some of the standard.
Top Tip – CALL OF THE WILD (1)
One to consider – DATSALRIGHTGINO (2)

MINT CONDITION was a very respectable 5th in the Kim Muir over slightly further when last seen and has since been dropped 1lb. This represents a much more achievable goal and he looks a strong chance to reopen the account. CHAMPAGNESUPEROVER got the job done with 4+ in hand at Catterick latest and warrants respect over a trip he’s likely to have more to come over.
Top Tip – MINT CONDITION (1)
One to consider – CHAMPAGNESUPEROVER (2)
Race 5 – Cheltenham Racecourse
CHAMBARD returned from a wind operation and 265 days off to score with 13 in hand at Exeter on New Year’s Day. He’s been in top form since, landing a couple silver medals before scoring a superb hat trick. He’s up for the 4 timer and despite a further 8lb hike looks to be well-primed to land it. UNDERSUPERVISION is the likely foil for the selection after taking home the Grimthorpe at Doncaster last month. He’s off 4lb higher and could make the most of his scope for improvement.
Top Tip – CHAMBARD (2)
One to consider – UNDERSUPERVISION (4)

Race 6 – Cheltenham Racecourse
LISNAGAR OSCAR has been failing to live up to expectations for some time but does warrant respect on return to a C&D he is proven over. He won the G1 Stayers’ Hurdle in his prime and any sort of recapturing of his best will see him dominant. WHOLESTONE is a viable alternative if the selection isn’t able to produce enough of a showing. He got back into shape when home with 13 in hand in a G2 at Haydock and is a huge chance now back over timber after a pulling up in the Midlands National Chase.
Top Tip – LISNAGAR OSCAR (2)
One to consider – WHOLESTONE (1)
Race 7 – Cheltenham Racecourse
LORD OF CHESHIRE learned plenty from his debut 6th at Hereford, landing 2nd at Ludlow back in February. He improved further when scoring at the same course and backed it up at Wincanton since. He has a very strong chance at a hat trick on 5th start despite a further 6lb hike. HERBIERS is respected off top weight following a most decent 9th in the Martin Pipe here last month. He’s 2lb light and has a 7lb claimer in the saddle so looks well-primed for a big effort.
Top Tip – LORD OF CHESHIRE (5)
One to consider – HERBIERS (1)
