COEUR SEREIN was tracking for a powerful opening score in these ranks when falling at the last. He is up 7lb for the effort but he can still dust himself off and gain meaningful compensation here. CORACH RAMBLER was a much-improved winner over this trip at Aintree and is respected off a 7lb hike.

CASTEL GANDOLFO showed ample staying ability when 2nd in a similar event here when last sighted. He has plenty of scope and should shrug off the 2lb rise. QUINTA DO MAR is a progressive sort who has won his last couple in style including a Fontwell win by a huge 31 lengths latest. Now upped 6lb he can shoot for the deserved hat trick.

FONTAINE COLLONGES proved an effective recruit for Venetia Williams, winning 3 of 6 outings. A pleasing winner at Warwick latest she has plenty of potential for further progression and can make a splash despite the 7lb rise. PRETTY LITTLE LIAR is worth a closer look having won well on chase bow before falling at Thurles latest. She is over for a raid and could leave with some good plunder.

ENRILO fell at this level late last month but prior to that was doing strong work in this sphere. Off the same 147 mark with conditions suited Paul Nicholls’ gelding can get back to business. MISTER FROGPATCHES has found the frame in the Scottish Grand National and the Troytown and must be respected at this level.

MIDNIGHT MAESTRO was a strong runner up at Punchestown latest and now with that under his belt could take some beating with fitness on his side and plenty of scope for improvement over these trips. DIESEL D’ALLIER was last seen 3rd over C&D on yard bow for Richard Bandey. That was a good sign of progress and he’s fancied to continue to sharpen up for the new team.
