Race 2 – Lingfield Racecourse
AFTER EIGHT has been coming to the boil nicely, rattling the crossbar in both outings. In a field lacking too much calibre she can go one better for Andrew Balding. MISS MESSENGER went down by a neck over the mile at Kempton on debut and wasn’t disgraced in 4th when upped to the extended 9f. She is pleasing paired with David Probert and looks plenty dangerous.

CELESTIAL POINT has done all her winning over turf but is worth trying again on the Polytrack. She has a 253 day absence to deft but Gary Moore has his string in fine order and she’s looking the best option here. MABRE is the pick with recent form to work off, she’s placed the last twice over this trip at other AW tracks and looks quite capable of landing a blow off a mark of 57.

DEMBE is fresh off a nice 7f double and now tackling the mile again might be able to land the coveted hat trick off 4lb higher with Rossa Ryan retaining the ride. UNFORGIVING MINUTE is a 7 time local winner who could put a large dent in the selection’s bid now reunited with James Doyle.

KABOO is a highly progressive Karl Burke colt who is lining up for a 4 timer on handicap bow. He is well-treated off a 95 mark and looks the one to beat once more. LUCKY MAN is a reliable operator and has to be respected off the back of a convincing trip win at Southwell early last month.

REECELTIC is interesting coming back up in trip after a couple of solid efforts in defeat over 12f here. He’s reaching peak fitness and that could see him with enough of an edge over a C&D he’s come agonising close over. LOVE POEMS could prove dangerous after capping off last year with some career-best form. A 3 month absence might see her in need of the outing but she’s still a fair chance.
