FAME AND ACCLAIM was a respectable runner up in heavy going at The Curragh back in May. He has posted some credible efforts in defeat since including 3rd over C&D. He struggled at Ayr latest but now conditions look suitable enough for a convincing comeback bid. RAISING SAND was last seen 3rd in the Shergar Cup at Ascot and could land a blow off an unchanged mark of 97.

MAHRAJAAN has been a progressive sort of late, landing a novice event with 9+ in hand at Ripon to secure a double before firing up on handicap bow to take out a superb hat trick. He should handle this sort of trip well off those efforts. RAVENSCRAIG CASTLE was a good 3rd in the Melrose here and could have plenty more to come on return.

SPOOF relished the slower going at Ascot when 4th 6 days ago and off an unchanged mark he can go better in a somewhat weaker field. LAHORE hasn’t had a great season but has been well-tried at higher levels and could make a splash coming back to minimum trip after a respectable 10th in the Ayr Gold Cup.

DAMAAR bolted up on debut over 7f at Sandown and looks suited to keep his unbeaten streak alive as he goes up another furlong even as he concedes weight. THREE START gets the nod as the best of the newcomers, coming from the red-hot Willie Haggas.

UGO GREGORY is a progressive sort who got away lightly when upped 2lb for a trip win at Beverley latest. He won’t mind the sloppy conditions and should be able to put forth a convincing bid.
