GRANDEUR D’AME was sent off in a Grade 1 hurdle event for his first test over timber. That says a lot about the confidence of connections after his emphatic debut win in the bumpers at Newton Abbot. He was well-held that day but is the experience alone is worth a lot. HERMES BELLEVUE showed the right attitude in a couple of efforts across the Channel and is respected on UK debut for Paul Nicholls.

Race 2 – Fakenham Racecourse
MAKETY is fancied to double down after a convincing Worcester score off the back off a manageable 5lb penalty. She has plenty of scope in these ranks and should sharpen nicely. BARBADOS BLUE didn’t have a lot of luck over hurdles last season but found a couple of minor prizes and is interesting going chasing for the powerful Nicky Henderson team.

ALIOMAANA was tracking for a win at Perth when falling at the last on penultimate outing. She came back and scored with a huge 29 in hand and looks hard to beat now going in for the double with the hood retained. THE YELLOW MINI has struck the crossbar in both outings following her Fontwell maiden win and should be on the premises.

Race 4 – Fakenham Racecourse.
ATHOLL STREET progressed nicely last season over hurdles, landing a couple of good trip wins at Taunton. He is now trying fences and should fare well off a 135 mark. CENOTICE was lacking in 5th latest and is worth another chance as his prior effort saw him a narrow winner over this trip at Perth.

GLIMPSE OF GOD was unlucky when unseating his rider at Huntingdon latest. He is a 3 time track and trip winner who should be able to make immediate amends. VOCAL DUKE is the danger off the back of his Uttoxeter win and could go well under a moderate 4lb hike.

ACHY BREAKY HEART is in top shape after a convincing win at Plumpton over timber. She is returning to chasing and can make a nice bid for a hat trick. TOMMIE BEAU has won his last 3 over hurdles and after 157 days off now tries chasing for the first time. He can battle it out with the selection for the glory.
