ELLOFAGETAWAY was a much-improved 4th over C&D on return from 224 days off and with Tom Cannon retaining the ride we could see him take another step forward.

Race 2 – Lingfield Racecourse
DOYEN QUEN was a respectable 4th at Uttoxeter latest and now upped in trip and fitted with the hood and tongue-tie loadout could edge her way forward. WAIKIKI WAVES is 14lb lower over timber than fences so could make a big splash after a somewhat promising 4th and now comes down in grade.

SILVER NICKEL was a gutsy 4th over C&D in heavy ground 12 days ago. Dropped 3lb for the effort, he can make the most of that in a weaker field. COLONEL KEATING is worth a closer look on comeback run having slid a further 2lb down the ratings.

HUDSON DE GRUGY has won thrice in similar going, all coming over this trip. On those terms Gary Moore’s charge looks the one they all need to account for. CALICO is also tipped to enjoy these conditions having won a couple of his own in similar circumstances.

GALOP DE CHASSE was last seen striking the crossbar in France and is now making first start for the red-hot Venetia Williams team off a very workable 112 mark. GOLDEN BOY GREY is interesting having won a couple of hurdle bouts in similarly testing conditions but has a long absence to account for and his chasing aptitude is taken on trust.

Race 6 – Lingfield Racecourse
GERICO VILLE showed some promise in 5th on hurdle bow over C&D and backed it up nicely when 2nd on return. Now reunited with Tom Cannon we can see him go one better in a moderate contest. PILOT SHOW demonstrated ample potential when 5th on debut over 2m at Chepstow. Now upped in trip and tackling hurdles he could come forward nicely.

WAR CALL has posted a mixed bag in 4 outings under rules but his 4th at Worcester is looking a useful piece of form, as the winner that day has gone on to win at G2 level. Now sporting a tongue-tie and shifting to chasing we could see a big effort. GALLIC GEORDIE is 2 from 2 over C&D and can pick up the pieces if the selection can’t capitalise.
