KING’S SPEAR has been doing solid work in defeat with back to back 4th finishes since joining Grant Maroun and could step forward with blinkers shed after seemingly not making much difference. SOWETO ROSE has been in the money in both runs since a decent debut 6th and should prove hard to keep out of the frame.

JOE HARMAN is interesting going up in trip but is not in the best spot at the weights. Pole position might see him able to do something. ZAVIAH has found the frame the last twice including a good 2 length 2nd over C&D back in August.

GLOBAL LOUISE is getting better with each run and is getting more market attention as she does so. Her latest 3rd over further was encouraging and she might find this middle trip to her liking. COVERMEINSUNSHINE has posted a handful of useful 3rd places this season and has claims on minor money.

INDIAN WAR DANCE has improved with each run since being fitted with blinkers and has done enough to be a player on paper in a moderate field. LESHAWES boasts a similar profile to the selection but has a bit more work to do to have leading claims.

ANATURA is rediscovering her best form and could prove hard to keep out of the mix if backing up her latest effort when within a length and a quarter in 5th at Turffontein. RUN AS ONE got home over C&D on 2nd start following being gelded and should be capable of further improvement as he traces the winning thread.

Race 7 – Vaal Racecourse
AL MUTHANA gets a reluctant vote on return from a long spell. On her best form she’s a level above this lot and if not too rusty she can hit the ground running. LAIRD OF BREEDON was not disgraced in a feature at Greyville when 5th by 3 lengths and should relish calmer waters.

BIT OF FUN had shown signs of an imminent win when 3rd here in July and made good on that when returning to land the spoils convincingly over C&D at the end of August. He looks to be kicking off his peak run. LEAGUE OF HER OWN is inconsistent but if in the right state will find the frame.
