LOVE ON TIME kicked things off with a pleasing 2nd that has since been franked. Unfortunately he didn’t back it up when subsequently 5th when upped to this trip. Now off for several months and having been gelded we might see crucial improvement from this Dean Kannemeyer charge. BEECHAMWOOD BOY was a solid 3rd on debut up against experienced rivals and could have more to come off the back of that effort.

Race 2 – Greyville Racecourse
CAPE PRINCESS has been doing strong work since being shifted to this surface, landing 3rd in all 3 runs. She needs to improve a bit more to build into a win but could well do so once again given pole position. GIMME A LULLABY showed solid improvement and ideal pace when fitted with cheekpieces over C&D on the turf latest. If she takes to the AW she could have more to come, from an ideal draw of 2.

DEATH BLOW was a seriously improved 3rd at 33/1 odds when fitted with first-time cheekpieces over the mile at Scottsville latest. He has shown adequate pace and could improve on return to the Poly. JACK IN THE BOX is back from 119 days off and if picking up where he left off could go one better than his June 2nd over C&D.

Race 4 – Greyville Racecourse
CASHEW is in a nice pocket of form of late and now trying both the mile and the Poly for the first time from a solid draw of 2 we could see her take the final step toward an open account. NAME OF THE GAME is a well-bred filly who probably needed the run when 9th at Scottsville latest and could find plenty on her own shift to the Poly and the 8f.

Race 5 – Greyville Racecourse
GOVERNORS GLORY has landed both his career victories over this trip and is now making AW/yard bow for Mark Dixon. If he brings his standard across he can prove to be a major player. NAVAL SECRET was last seen a superb 3rd over 7f on turf here, landing within ¾ of a length of the winner. He is back on his ideal surface and should relish the mile.

Race 6 – Greyville Racecourse
QUEPID looks hard to oppose on best form as a C&D winner who has the best draw and a handy 9lb claimer aboard. She’s not unbeatable here but looks set for a big run. JACKSON WELLS returned to winning ways over 7f here on this surface and now she’s regained her momentum could prove a useful sort on return to the mile.

Race 7 – Greyville Racecourse
ROYAL MONARCH showed the right mettle when scoring his maiden over the mile here in blinkers. His prior effort on Poly debut saw him denied by a short head into 2nd so he did well gaining compensation. He returns to 7f which should not interfere with his winning chances. CALGARY is a trip winner who was a solid 3rd on comeback run/yard debut for Peter Muscutt. That was some of the best we’ve seen out of him since back when he was an Yvette Bremner charge.

Race 8 – Greyville Racecourse
FOREST JUMP has found the frame in his last 3 runs on this surface including back to back 2nds over C&D. He looks to be on the right track to land a career-first AW win and gets to launch again from pole position. RUNNING FREELY was last seen a solid 2nd by a length on double bid after winning well over 6f here. He is now making yard debut for Gary Rich and will have to find improvement to get into the mix as he isn’t paired with a claimer anymore.

HARPER’S DREAM showed up well when 3rd in first-time blinkers over 7f here back in August. She gets to try again in the same headgear from the best of the draws and looks poised for a big one. CAPRICCIO is a threat out of gate 2 as a mare who has been threatening hard to land her 2nd career victory. She is surface versatile but needs to get her jump right to be a player now dropped to 6f.
