WINTER JOURNEY found a promising rival too good last time and that rival is headed for the big leagues so she gets the vote to go one better. KINGSMEAD KRYSTL has been highly tried in her 3 career starts and held on well enough to gain meaningful experience. Now at maiden level she’s a huge player.

DUQUESNE WHISTLE was a strong 2nd over this trip on the AW here 2 days ago and looks to be as close to shedding the maiden tag as she’s been to date. NATASHA ROSTOV is better than the 5th we saw here over the mile on the Poly with the 10f looking a good move.

Race 3 – Greyville Racecourse
NEW ORLEANS was a little undisciplined in her 2 runs to date but showed some potential. Since joining Carl Hewitson she’s fancied to behave herself and open the account. INDOMAVEL returns to 7f where her best has come, albeit on the AW. She has shown enough on turf to be a player though.

Race 4 – Greyville Racecourse
PINK FLOYD was a good 4th in a higher class event over C&D on the AW latest and should fare well. Turf is more suited and he has the plum draw so should get home here. NAVAL SECRET was ahead of the selection when they met here on the AW back in August and is useful enough on turf to prove a challenge.

Race 5 – Greyville Racecourse
SOFIA ERIN was doing strong work before a spell and now launching from pole position if fitness is no worry she can pick up where she left off. WINDOW TO AFRICA was too bad to be true when 12th of 12 when last seen here. Her 2nd over slightly longer on penultimate run is a better piece of form and a return to turf is tipped to suit after 119 days off.

Race 6 – Greyville Racecourse
PURPLE NKANYEZI probably needed the run when last on comeback over 7f on the Poly here. Her efforts before the break were excellent and if she brings it to turf she could prove a useful type. RIVER DOON is the wildcard after 3 runs including a 7f win on AW. The mile could suit and she’s shown a liking for turf.

Race 7 – Greyville Racecourse
ASTRIX does good work over this trip and was last seen winning at Turffontein. He’s fresh and has won off longer breaks before. He has a plum draw and should be right there. NATIVE TONGUE posted credible efforts in defeat from truly shocking draws the last twice including a head win over C&D. He cannot be discounted here despite a bit of work to do at the weights.

PRINCESS ANASTASIA has shown promise in her post-maiden efforts and now upped to 10f might find the extra run the missing piece to get her back to winning. TWICETHEQUALITY handles herself well and was a good 3rd on yard bow for Duncan Howells so should continue to improve from barrier 2.
