TARSUS may have needed the run when beating none home over 6f here over turf on yard bow for Jacques Strydom. Now back on the synthetic we might see a bit of a comeback from this useful veteran. BROADSIDE is 1 from 2 here and while less exposed on synthetic it looks to be his ideal surface so he demands respect.

FREEZING FAST is interesting on local/yard bow for Jacques Strydom. This is a fairly moderate field and this 30 time maiden might be able to get a deserved win under his belt. RED BISHOP has found the frame the last 5 times straight and has a clear winning chance. Blinkers have clearly done this stablemate to the selection well.

FLYING TESSA was a pleasing 4th on local debut when making first run for Gavin Smith. She is expected to come forward from that but the barrier 10 is a concern. QUE COSAS was beaten into 4th when favourite over C&D latest but does well here, especially when paired with Greg Cheyne.

MAGIC BLAZE has the right sort of pace for an event like this and found 2nd by a neck on his sole attempt over C&D. Blinkers seem to be working so he’s fancied to go one better after a lacklustre turf performance. ROCK THE KAZVAR is in top shape, having struck the crossbar the last twice since winning over C&D. He demands respect and should be right amongst it here.

Race 6 – Fairview Racecourse
VALETORIO has been well-tried on turf with limited success. She won by a neck on her sole Polytrack attempt so she might have more on return as a trip winner. NAAFER showed the right stuff when 2 ¼ lengths back in 4th on local bow over 6f. He struggled when dropped back to the extended 5f, beating just one home. Now trying 7f we might see further improvement for the Juan Nel charge.

STAGE DANCE has been disappointing of late but is fairly useful over this trip. The return to 8f along with a weak field could see her gain a much-needed confidence booster. LOLLAPALOOZA was backed into oblivion when 3rd over 7f here latest. She wasn’t disgraced but should bring plenty on her bid to make amends.

ON YOUR MARKS has been reliable enough of late to have leading claims in a moderate contest, striking the crossbar in 3 of his last 4. HIKARU is expected to bounce back from a very lacking 7th over slightly longer here. His prior form saw him land 4 straight silvers on this surface.
