CUBAN BREEZE found a breath of new life when fitted with a first-time visor on first start for new connections. She made all that day and could do the same once more off just 4lb higher. SCALE FORCE has been sliding down the handicap and looks capable of exploiting a 9lb lower mark than his win last March. Last seen 2nd by a ¾ of a length over this trip at Southwell he looks ready to roll.

POET has really come into his own since shifting to the AW, now starting for the Dixon team he could put his strong speed to good work now dropped to 5f again. FAIR AND SQUARE has rattled the crossbar the last thrice and looks a danger now fitted with a hood and cheekpieces.

Race 4 – Wolverhampton Racecourse
WITCH HUNTER went down into 2nd by a neck on debut over this trip at Newbury in September before a similarly impressive 3rd at Salisbury when upped in class. Richard Hannon’s colt took it even further when ¾ a length 2nd at Listed level at York in October. If taking to this surface he is highly likely to get a deserved maiden win in much calmer waters. CITYJET made a pleasing debut in 2nd over C&D in late December but does look unlucky to be lining up against the selection here.

BASE NOTE put the lessons of his debut 9th to good work landing a couple of 2nd place finishes here before opening the account with 5 in hand on handicap bow at Lingfield when upped to 10f. Having been gelded since, a further rise in trip can see him double off a 7lb higher mark. LAST AMMO failed to fire in his post-maiden outing at Southwell but could fire up on return to this track.

MISS SLIGO won at this level at Kempton on penultimate outing and wasn’t disgraced when 2nd to a very useful sort in a Lingfield handicap since. BEAU GESTE has found the frame the last twice in these ranks and is certainly capable of landing a blow here.

SHABS has shown little to date until he was denied by a nose on handicap bow over C&D late last month. An unchanged mark and the services of Tom Marquand can see him duly compensated. STORM ASSET is respected having won 2 of his last 3 including over C&D latest. A 3lb hike seems him well-within his reach to follow up.

MILLION REASONS has an exciting hat trick on the line after doubling up over 6f at Lingfield and Newcastle. He is under a 5lb penalty but looks quite capable of pressing his claims in a mediocre field. MACS DILLEMA scored over C&D off this rating back in December and hasn’t been entirely disgraced since. He could feasibly bounce back here if able to account for the selection.
