Race 2 – Windsor Racecourse
SAFARI DREAM was a most pleasing debutante when 2nd by a neck on debut over this trip at Sandown 17 days ago. With that run to work from he’s capable of going one better with normal improvement. LAHINA BAY took a huge step forward when 3rd at 10/1 odds over C&D 3 weeks back and can give the selection the most to think about.

WITCH HUNTER was last sighted 2nd by a length at Listed level over 7f at Lingfield. That winner has gone on to win at G2 level and this is a very simple task for Richard Hannon’s colt on comeback from 114 days off. DANZENO is stripping fit for a comeback 6th at Musselburgh. He has won at higher levels in the past and is capable of pressing fair claims at 11 years old.

JEWEL IN MY CROWN has struck the crossbar the last twice including over C&D on penultimate run. A 3lb hike isn’t ideal but the form has been boosted since and she’s in a fair spot to get back on the scoreboard here. ANYTHINGTODAY has compensation claims to press following a ¾ length defeat into 2nd over C&D latest. Ryan Moore is a most pleasing booking and we can expect a big effort.

THANKS MONICA has been coming to the boil nicely of late and wasn’t disgraced when well-beaten into 2nd by a useful rival at Lingfield. A 2lb drop is handy as she returns to turf on the hunt for a deserved maiden victory. QOYA is bred for this trip range and should be able to take a fair step forward with Tom Marquand in the irons.

DEVOTED POET has found the frame in each of 3 starts to date, including when toppled by a neck at Nottingham over this trip. A similar effort here could be enough to secure his way out of the maiden ranks. STATE EVENT took a fair step forward when 5th at Newcastle latest and has since been gelded. Any measure of improvement here can see him enter the fray.
