RIVER QUERARESS is the one they all have to beat as a 3 time winner, including at Listed level. She wasn’t disgraced when ½ a length 2nd back in March and should be nice and fresh. MERCANTOUR made a strong start to life under rules when 2nd over 5f here. He went one better at Turffontein and has ample scope for improvement.

BIG FIVE is most interesting now tackling the mile and upward, he has been coming to the boil nicely since being fitted with blinkers and this might be his time to finally enter the winners’ circle. POMODORO HILLS took a fair step forward when 4th over the mile here at 40/1 odds. We could see him build on that for Sean Tarry.

QUEST FROM AFAR is overdue a win and won’t have to do much having accounted for enough of this field in the past. COUNTRY FLAME has finished behind the selection in the past and looks best placed to chase her home.

BIT OF FUN is a local winner last seen winning well enough over this trip at Turffontein 12 days ago. He’s got more to do at the weights and a wide draw but is still competitive enough to win here. KOOL BAIKAL was a few lengths back in 4th at Turffontein that day and is entering on better terms.

ON CUE puts in strong late work and hasn’t finished outside the frame since being fitted with blinkers 4 starts back. This looks her time to get back on the scoreboard for Ashley Fortune. EMERALD PRINCESS isn’t the most consistent sort but remains somewhat unexposed, especially vet this trip range where she won her maiden on 2nd start.

ALABAMA ANNA has rediscovered form since being fitted with blinkers, landing the spoils over C&D with 2+ in hand last month. She looks hard to oppose here, despite the average draw. COOL WINTER has been hinting at a need for more run and is finally afforded it today. The task won’t be easy off top weight but he’s a local winner with a nice high draw who should put forth a good effort. HIGH BORN LADY came back from a short spell to win at 10/1 over a similar trip here so has to be respected here.
