Race 2 – Turffontein Racecourse
LADY OSIER has been threatening to win in all 3 outings to date. With a bit of extra yardage we could see her land a deserved maiden win. LOVE BITE isn’t the most consistent operator but connections are sticking with the blinkers. She has place potential if bringing her best.

EAGLE RIVER had excuses when beating none home in October. A rest should have done him good and if he can replicate his ¾ length 2nd over C&D he could get right back on track. PORTRAYAL took a bit of a step backward when 5th latest but if bouncing back with the blinkers retained we is a player.

Race 4 – Turffontein Racecourse
THUMBS UP is respected as the kind who goes well fresh and has a solid record here. She couldn’t land a blow at G3 level back in November but in these calmer waters is quite capable of striking. BELLA CHICA is in a good pocket of form of late, she managed a superb 4 timber last year and is still fighting fit.

Race 5 – Turffontein Racecourse
WINTER STORIES has some placed form at this level and has held his own at G2 level when 5th in 2020. Nothing special in 12th over 6f here at this level in November he took a big step forward when 4th over C&D in late December. He is moving in the right direction under the tutelage of Paul Peter. MASTER ARCHIE put his excellent dash to good work when bolting up at Vaal latest. He hasn’t been tested at this level but looks progressive enough to give his stablemate a challenge.

Race 6 – Turffontein Racecourse
DESERT MIRACLE has never finished outside the top 2 in 7 outings. She was denied a 5 streak by just a neck when 2nd at Kenilworth in the G1 Cape Fillies and will be giving her all for redemption. RAIN IN HOLLAND has an excellent record over C&D and has been useful finding 3rd the last thrice. She’s a G1 winner but doesn’t quite seem to be at the same level we saw in the earlier portion of 2021.

Race 7 – Turffontein Racecourse
SAFE PASSAGE has won his last 4 by ever shrinking margins but is nonetheless the one to beat. He is in top form and will be better off for the short freshener. ARAGOSTA has been 3rd behind the selection before but is on better terms now coming off the back of a G3 win over 9f here. He should prove a much tougher rival to peg this time.

Race 8 – Turffontein Racecourse
VICTORIA PAIGE hasn’t been at her best since mid-2021 but is respected off top weight. She’s a C&D winner who could potentially be too good if running to her rating and not rusty. LEMON DELIGHT has a bad habit of getting away slowly. She’s still a useful sort and if she doesn’t make things too hard for herself could get into the mix here.

MARCHINGONTOGETHER has really come into his own since joining the St John yard. He is in an excellent pocket of form and should be right amongst it. OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE isn’t the most consistent type but possesses ample talent that if arriving in the right mood could take this sort of field out.

Race 10 – Turffontein Racecourse
MK’S PRIDE is 6 from 7 over C&D and should take plenty of beating, he does have to concede plenty of weight around so he will have to bring his best. BINGWA is better than what we saw latest over 10f. A drop in trip and some forgiveness can see him enter the equation.
