KANAKAM showed his best to date when 3rd on yard bow for George Boughey after a couple of mediocre starts for his old team. Now upped in trip with that under his belt he can return from a couple months off and put another foot forward. HARBOUR VISION has landed 2nd in both outings following a solid Wolverhampton success. A 1lb higher mark isn’t ideal but he should remain competitive.

Race 2 – Southwell Racecourse
BIPLANE has been in red-hot form of late, notching a nice double before having to settle for 2nd in a 4 horse field at Newcastle when upped in grade. A return to her last winning C&D off the same 68 mark can see her right back on the board here. DIAMOND HAZE took a step in the right direction when 3rd at Ripon at the end of August and could prove rather troublesome.

LINCOLN ROCKSTAR opened the account nicely on handicap bow at Redcar when upped to this trip, despite being hampered. A 5lb higher mark is workable, especially now the penny has dropped. GOLDEN ADLER remains unexposed and is improving as she goes, her latest 3rd at Kempton is a fair piece of form and she’s expected to crack further into the placings.

Race 4 – Southwell Racecourse
DOUBLE MARCH has been toppled by extremely narrow margins in both outings to date. With those to work from and a drop back to 7f we can see due compensation awarded. CASTLE PEAK is well worth a closer inspection making debut for Charlie Appleby. Well-bred and likely to enjoy the AW he’s capable of hitting the ground running.

MISS GALAGHER showed her best yet when 2nd by a neck over 6f here on handicap bow in late September. With that to work from and a rise in trip, we can see her go one better despite a 2lb rise. AMERICAN BELLE has shown plenty to work with in 3 starts in the novice/maiden ranks and could mix things up now going handicapping off a 75 mark.

Race 6 – Southwell Racecourse
KHULU returned to winning ways over 6f at Thirsk when last seen 2 months ago. He’s up 4lb for the effort but returns to a C&D he is 2 from 3 at. He’s looking hard to beat with his current momentum. KOROPICK has had to settle for a narrow defeat into 2nd the last twice, including latest over C&D. He is likely to be wound up nicely for a big effort to go one better.

TEQUILAMOCKINGBIRD is in good heart since switching to this surface and was last seen a length 2nd over 11f here. An extra furlong of run and Harry Davies’ 3lb claim sees her effectively 2lb better off today. SOOGHAN could have something to say having won on first attempt on this surface. A couple of close up finishes since see him in a fair spot to challenge, especially with Harry Burns taking 3lb off.

VIRTUOSO opened the account in style when making all over 14f at Ffos Las late last month. Now the penny has dropped she could bring her standard back to the AW off the same mark. BE BE EX is the chief threat having won narrowly over C&D at the end of August, with a 2lb hike being very manageable.
