Race 2 – Sandown Racecourse
LOCAL DYNASTY won readily on debut at Newmarket before being sent up to G3 level at York. He found a very respectable 5th and should be able to put it to good use now eased in task. SIR LAURENCE GRAFF was denied into 2nd by a neck at Goodwood latest and has fair compensation claims. He won’t be troubled by the soft ground and could get off the mark here.

STRIKING STAR gets a vote on debut for the might Charlie Appleby string. A well-bred Dubawi colt, he should know what to. William Buick’s booking is a pleasing one as well. SEA SQUARED is the pick with experience. He hasn’t shown much in 2 starts but it could prove crucial against these newcomers.

Race 4 – Sandown Racecourse
BAYSIDE BOY wasn’t at his best in 4th at Goodwood latest at G3 level. He was 2 lengths back in 7th in the St James’ Palace at Royal Ascot prior and can bounce back in these relatively calmer waters, now trying blinkers. ESCOBAR is in good heart, placing the last twice including at G3 level at Goodwood latest. The winner has franked the form handsomely so he’s shaping up to be a major presence here.

I’LL BE THERE improved with each outing, culminating in a convincing trip win at Goodwood in June. She has since had 3 months off and joined George Boughey and could have plenty more in store now going handicapping. NEW HEIGHTS won here in July and was last seen 2nd at Goodwood. She should appreciate the return off the same mark.

SAVROLA won by a nose at Haydock three starts back and has struck the crossbar in both outings since. There should be plenty more to come now going handicapping off a seemingly lenient 77 mark. PHANTASY MAC demands respect as she is in top form, winning 4 of her last 5 and likely having plenty of further scope for George Boughey.

RIKONA kicked things off with a bang when a dead-heat winner at Ffos Las on first outing since joining Kevin Philippart de Foy. A 3lb hike is fair and William Buick takes over in the plate. The pair can build nicely on that effort today. MISS BLUEBELLE was a narrow but pleasing winner at Chelmsford on handicap bow when sent off at 12/1 odds. She’s up 4lb and can come out swinging.
