POETIC UNION showed some promise in 5th on debut at Salisbury last month. The experience may well prove sufficient for her to get her head in front in a moderate field. THUNDER STAR is respected a debut winner but didn’t quite back it up when 4th at York. Another furlong of run could see her very competitive with Hollie Doyle taking the ride.

Race 2 – Newmarket Racecourse
MARTHA’S MOMENT is down in grade and looks primed for a big run under Hollie Doyle. A mark of 66 is workable and the visor may well spark the required improvement. DUCHRAY is hit and miss but on his best form can make a bold bid for Mark Johnston.

LOCAL DYNASTY gets a vote on debut for the powerful connections of Charlie Appleby and James Doyle. He’s a well-bred son of Dubawi and should know what he has to do here. MAASAI MARA is another interesting debutant, this time for the Gosdens with Cieren Fallon taking the ride. He should also be well-readied for the spin.

Race 4 – Newmarket Racecourse
GIAVELLOTTO showed his best yet when 2nd in a very valuable handicap at Haydock last month. A 5lb higher mark makes things tougher but he’s looking progressive enough to take it in stride. LAW OF THE SEA is most interesting going back up in trip and is shaping up to be a decent Gosden runner. He has 131 days off to defy but could challenge.

Race 5 – Newmarket Racecourse
LADY RAEBURN has seemed to need a bit more run to unlock her next step of progression. Kevin Ryan’s filly is afforded another furlong here and looks set to build on a staying 3rd at Doncaster. SAYIFYOUWILL misfired when 8th at Ascot but was a fair winner at Salisbury earlier and is capable of plenty from a 74 mark.

TANMAWWY didn’t live up to market support when 9th of 9 at Ascot last month. He can recover his confidence here in a 3 horse race and rediscover the standard that saw him notch a double earlier in the year. BERGERAC is coming to the boil nicely and can challenge off 1lb higher.
