BAKERSBOY wasn’t far beaten when dropped back to this trip at the same course last week. He’s capable of contesting the finish here off the same 77 mark.

SELF PRAISE showed marked improvement when 2nd in the Woodcote at Epsom earlier in the month. He did some seriously good late work there and could prove sharp enough here to shed the maiden tag. KILLYBEGS WARRIOR is well-worth a closer look on debut for Mark Johnston.

JUDITH made the best possible start to life under rules when successful over this trip at Ascot. She had the situation well in hand and looks capable of backing it up now paired with a 5lb claimer. AL NAFIR is of exceptional pedigree and won narrowly on 2nd outing at Kempton. He’s back from 217 days off but could continue his progression for Charlie Appleby.

COSMIC DESERT has progressed nicely in the maiden/novice ranks and looks good off an 85 mark with the most likely challenge to come from a fellow Godolphin runner. RETURN TO DUBAI has found 2nd the last twice including by a neck over this trip at Lingfield late last month. Now fitted with cheekpieces he might be able to give his stablemate quite the challenge.

GIVE A LITTLE BACK showed marked improvement when 3rd on comeback run at Wolverhampton last month. The mile looks workable as he seeks to build on that effort for the in-form De Foy team. IT IS NOW showed fair progression in 3 runs and is worth a look now returning a gelding for Roger Varian.

Race 6 – Newmarket Racecourse
STUNNING BEAUTY gets a narrow vote off the back of a much-improved 3rd over the mile at Ascot. His rider takes a further 5lb off today and that might be enough to get him up in this small field. NIGHT NARCISSUS is the danger off the back of a nice Wolverhampton double but the shift to turf might not be conducive to the hat trick here.

INCOME needed the run when 9th at Goodwood on comeback from an 80 day spell. She can make amends here now dropped 2lb and fighting fit. AMOR DE MI VIDA made a good impression in 3rd at Redcar on return from 216 days off. She could have plenty more to come for Archie Watson off 2lb lower.
