MAGIC GEM showed his best to date when half a length 3rd over C&D in first-time blinkers back in October. The short rest can aid his cause and he could get it right this time, trying a visor. STAND FREE shows a step in the right direction when 4rh over 11f at Southwell latest and could build on it now back over her maiden winning C&D.

LIGHTENING COMPANY kicked things off with a score by a nose over 7f at Carlisle in May. He has had to settle for 2nd in both subsequent outings including latest over C&D. The 2lb rise sees him remain competitive.

NELLIE FRENCH needed the outing when beating just one home in a pipe-opener at Wolverhampton latest. With that under her belt she could recapture the standard that saw her notch a 5f double at that course.

WHITTLE LE WOODS gets the vote as a C&D winner who was last seen 3rd behind the future Ayr Bronze Cup winner. Now making yard bow for Mick Appleby off a 77 mark we can see a big run. LATE ARRIVAL battled his way to a narrow victory over C&D last week but the 5lb penalty sees him vulnerable to the selection.
