TWOSHOTSOFTEQUILA took a few attempts to get it right but opened the account in good style at Sedgefield on Boxing Day. With that under his belt and Nathan Moscrop’s 3lb claim to dampen the 7lb rise we could see another leap forward now handicapping. KIHAVAH has found the frame the last twice since being refitted with a tongue-tie and should be in the mix once more.

GALLIC GEORDIE has really come into his own of late, winning his last 3 with authority. A further 9lb rise will be felt but he looks capable of defying the revised mark over an ideal trip. DA VINCI HAND relished a shortened trip when opening the chase account at Catterick in late December and should have more to come off just 4lb higher.

ONWARD ROUTE has found the frame in 7 of 8 outings in the NH ranks and could take the final step forward now returning from nearly 12 months off and wind surgery. DEEPER BLUE is respected off the back of his penultimate 2nd at Chepstow to a very well-regarded rival.

UNCLE ALASTAIR returned from 286 days off and a wind operation to come within ½ a length of landing a punt at Carlisle. The 4lb rise is probably fair and he can sharpen further for the run. COME ON TEDDY wasn’t disgraced in 5th at G2 level at Cheltenham and now down in grade could notch another score over an ideal trip.

Race 6 – Newcastle Racecourse
GETALEAD landed a hat trick over shorter trips before being outpaced at Taunton when dropped in trip. Now upped to 3m we could see him bounce right back off a workable mark of 117. STONEY ROVER was sent off favourite when 2nd at Hexham latest and now upped in trip this lightly-raced 9 year old could progress further.

Race 7 – Newcastle Racecourse
LADY ADARE won on debut in a C&D bumper back in March on her sole start for Micky Hammond. She was then picked up by Harry Fry and edged out a dominant 7 length hurdle win at Uttoxeter. Having had a rest and a wind operation since we could see a nice hat trick from her. POETRIA receives 20lb from the selection and was a solid enough 3rd at Wetherby on hurdle bow.
