With that run under his belt he can go one better now tackling timber. HECOULDBETHEONE is the danger having scored with 6 in hand on hurdle bow at Fontwell on Boxing Day.

AMARILLO SKY opened the chase account on 2nd attempt at Wincanton in November. A runner up since to a winner who has franked the form we can see Colin Tizzard’s charge get right back on top. LIGHT N STRIKE is a reliable performer across all National Hunt spheres, with form lines of 212 over fences and demands respect.

Race 4 – Newbury Racecourse
CHANCEUX has proven highly progressive over hurdles, kicking off with a 2nd at Hereford before winning both subsequent starts over this trip. He has a very strong chance of a hat trick now handicapping off a 116 mark. FINE CASTING and his runner up were well-clear of the rest of the field when he scored over this trip at Ffos Las. He is a C&D winner in the bumpers and is feared for Ben Pauling.

KEEP WONDERING was well-back at Haydock latest and rewarded the support with a narrow but solid victory. Off 3lb higher, Philip Hobbs’ 8 year old should have more to come here. MELLOW BEN wasn’t impressive when beating one home on return to timber at Kempton latest. A shift straight back to fences can see him bank on the promise he has demonstrated at Uttoxeter and Kempton.

Race 6 – Newbury Racecourse
GRAN LUNA was in need of the run when 11th at Taunton in December. She put it to hard work when scoring by a head over C&D toward the end of the month. A 2lb rise can see her double down for the power combo of Nicky Henderson and Nico de Boinville. VOICE OF CALM was runner up that day and filled the same positon in both preceding outings. She can bring home more minor money here.

AUTHORISED SPEED was beaten favourite on debut when 2nd at Market Rasen but was not disgraced. He backed it up well when 2nd by a length in a Listed bumper at Ascot and looks primed to go one better for Gary Moore in these calmer waters. CAPTAIN DESTINY is worth a market check on debut for the powerful Paul Nicholls yard.
