MACCLOUD hung left when an improved 3rd in a first-time cheekpieces and tongue-tie loadout at Wetherby in January. He has since had wind surgery and could sharpen enough now upped in trip in a contest that won’t take a lot of winning. GOLD MINER is a winner between the flags who has found the frame in both races he completed. He has the stamina and the scope to be a player here.

Race 2 – Musselburgh Racecourse
CLEAR THE RUNWAY had plenty in hand when tearing it up over C&D on chase bow last month. A rapid turnabout under penalty before the assessor can have their say could pay rapid dividends. IDILCO is the danger off the back of a strong hurdle win over C&D and he could bring his momentum back over fences where he is yet to impress.

Race 3 – Musselburgh Racecourse
CANCAN has landed in the money in 8 of 9 outings to date and has struck the crossbar the last twice since shedding the maiden tag at Ayr in November. This sort of trip range looks workable for her and she can go one better off the same 107 mark with Bruce Lynn retaining the ride. LEESWOOD LILY is fresh off a dominant double at Sedgefield where the quality of her finish suggested she could ben benefit from the extra couple of furlong son the hunt for the glorious hat trick.

Race 4 – Musselburgh Racecourse
CHAMP IS REAL showed nothing of note and attracted little support in 3 outings over timber. Connections shifted him to fences and the market agreed. He justified the support when scoring with 2+ in hand over C&D and is fancied to double up for in-form connections. RAPID RAIDER wasn’t great when 6th on bid for a 4 timer at Newcastle. He lost nothing in defeat and off a 98 mark is still within reach of victory after a short spell and a return to a winning C&D.

Race 5 – Musselburgh Racecourse
BLOORIEDOTCOM hasn’t scored for over 2 years but has been improving with each run since a comeback in December 2021. Last seen 3rd over C&D, he looks the sort who could get back into the swing of things now approaching peak fitness off a mark of 102. SET IN STONE is a hit and miss sort but if she shows up in the right mindset she’s a big chance for Rebecca Menzies’ red-hot string.

Race 6 – Musselburgh Racecourse
RIO DES ECHANAULT showed ample promise between the flags in Ireland and made a winning UK/yard/rules debut for Jess McKie at Kelso in April last year. A similar performance to that effort will see him take all the beating here. NINE ALTARS is respected off the back of a 2nd at Kelso in these ranks back in May and could have a say if not in need of the outing.
