GALAH was a bit outclassed when 5th at Listed level at Doncaster after landing a maiden there the month before. The experience will no less be meaningful and she can bounce back in these calmer waters. ILE DE JERSEY showed plenty to like when trained across the Channel and is likely to make a positive impression now under Nicky Henderson’s watchful eye on UK debut.

Race 2 – Ludlow Racecourse
CENOTICE held on by a nose to score over slightly further at Newcastle last month. A 2lb rise is workable as he seeks to double down. If he gets his desired early lead he could take some stopping in this 4 horse field. GALOP DE CHASSE is the danger off the back of a solid 2nd over this trip at Huntingdon late last month. Venetia Williams has her string in fine order and a big effort is expected.

Race 3 – Ludlow Racecourse
LAKOTA WARRIOR wasn’t at his best, nor disgraced when 3rd at Wetherby latest. His prior win there was most promising and he can hold them off despite conceding weight as this looks a simpler task. ZUCAYAN showed ample potential in a handful of bumpers without winning and could deliver further now tackling timber.

Race 4 – Ludlow Racecourse
GORTROE JOE put forth a very impressive display when victorious over this trip at Kempton with 11 in hand back in November. He goes well fresh and could have more to come off 5lb higher for the mighty Fergal O’Brien. CHAMBARD is likely to be in the mix off the back of a dominant Exeter win backed up by a 2nd at Lingfield. A 3lb hike isn’t too much to worry about for Venetia Williams’ 10 year old.

TRAPISTA wasn’t disgraced when 6th at Chepstow in her post-maiden outing when upped in class while also making handicap bow. This drop in class off a 1lb lower mark can see her build on her Huntingdon win for the Jonjo O’Neill’s. VOLKOVKA is down in grade and is another likely to be able to land plenty of blows at this level.

Race 6 – Ludlow Racecourse
MISTER SPLASH wasn’t anything special in a single bumper outing, but did show a glimpse of promise when 5th on hurdle bow at Wincanton. He took an even bigger step forward when 2nd at Taunton latest and could go one better now upped in trip once more. LASSUE caught the eye in 4th on debut in the bumpers and built on it nicely when 2nd on hurdle bow at Exeter. Back from a short rest she could have plenty more.

Race 7 – Ludlow Racecourse
PONT AVEN posted a few decent placed efforts in the handicaps last season, there were a few mishaps among them but nothing too derailing. Now trying the hunter chase ranks he could sharpen further. NOT THE FUISSE took a step in the right direction when 3rd over C&D on return from a few months off. Now fitter he could have a say for Dan Skelton.
