Race 1 – Lingfield Racecourse
NURSE SUSAN has won both outings to date with enough in hand to suggest she can make it 3 from 3 for Dan Skelton. RAINYDAY WOMAN is Paul Nicholls’ hand in this and is fresh off her own hat trick, including latest over a similar trip at Listed level at Taunton. She could have more to come but doesn’t quite excite like her unexposed rival.
Top Tip – NURSE SUSAN (2)
One to consider – RAINDAY WOMAN (3)
Race 2 – Lingfield Racecourse
DEJA VUE returned from 277 days off to win with 9 in hand at 10/1 odds at Exeter last month. With that spin under her belt, Anthony Honeyball’s mare can make it 2 on the bounce. BELLE DE MANECH couldn’t back up her dominant 14 length Wincanton score when dropped to the extended 15f off 10lb higher. A return to this trip can see her regain some prestige but she has to contend with her stablemate.
Top Tip – DEJA VUE (1)
One to consider – BELLE DE MANECH (4)
Race 3 – Lingfield Racecourse
ECLAIR D’AINAY retraced the winning thread when home with 6+ in hand at Wetherby over a furlong shorter in the soft. Trip suited and with conditions looking conducive we could see Dan Skelton’s lightly-raced 8 year old double down despite the 7lb rise. LE LIEGERIEN opened the chasing account over this trip at Chepstow with a convenient 4+ lead and could have more to come.
Top Tip – ECLAIR D’AINAY (1)
One to consider – LE LIGERIEN (6)
Race 4 – Lingfield Racecourse
ON THE BLIND SIDE has been subpar the last twice but there’s a lot to like about his 2nd over 3m in the G2 Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury in November. Any sort of replication of that effort over just a furlong shorter can see him recover his momentum. EMITOM has been progressing well over fences of late but a return to hurdling could see him a big player for the Greatrex yard.
Top Tip – ON THE BLIND SIDE (4)
One to consider – EMITOM (3)
Race 5 – Lingfield Racecourse
BROKEN HALO kicked things off with a promising 3rd at Chepstow on chase bow before backing it up with an emphatic 19 length victory at Exeter. The up in trip should prove no issue and a 10lb rise can be weathered here. FANTASTIKAS is the danger having found the frame the last twice at G2 level and could relish the return to calmer waters.
Top Tip – BROKEN HALO (1)
One to consider – FANTASTIKAS (3)
Race 6 – Lingfield Racecourse
HUDSON DE GRUGY had the situation well in hand when scoring over C&D a month back. A 3lb hike seems fair and Gary Moore’s charge can double down with these conditions likely to be handled well. LUCKY MAX has won his last 3 in style across the Irish Sea and could make it a 4 timer as he seeks some valuable plunder for Sean Doyle.
Top Tip – HUDSON DE GRUGY (4)
One to consider – LUCKY MAX (3)
Race 7 – Lingfield Racecourse
NEIL THE LEGEND showed no signs of slowing down when scoring over this trip at Warwick with 15 in hand on his first run since re-joining Nicky Henderson’s team. Nico de Boinville retains the ride and he pair can back that right up despite a further 11lb to carry. CUT THE MUSTARD hinted at a return to form when 3rd at 22/1 at Chepstow latest and won’t mind the extra yardage at all.
Top Tip – NEIL THE LEGEND (9)
One to consider – CUT THE MUSTARD (2)
