Race 2 – Leicester Racecourse
DUBROVNIK HARRY showed plenty to like in 3rd on debut at Exeter over the extended 2m. He backed it up nicely when home with a huge 25 in hand when given a couple more furlongs there. Another up in trip can see Harry Fry’s charge double down under penalty. JET PLANE opened his account with a length in hand at Ludlow in a tongue-tie which is retained, he looks best-placed to challenge or maybe just chase the selection home.

BALLINSKER gets the nod after striking the crossbar the last twice since being fitted with cheekpieces. He receives weight from all rivals and can get the best of this small field. SAM BARTON is down in grade on 2nd outing since wind surgery, the tongue-tie and cheekpieces stay on and he could have a big run in him.

LIVELY CITIZEN was unfortunate to be pulled up when his rider’s saddle slipped at Cheltenham a few days back. That was coming off the back of a fair win there and he can bounce back with a better run of luck. LADYKILLER is worth a look on handicap bow for David Pipe after landing 3rd in both hurdle bouts to date.

FAMILY BUSINESS won with a couple of these rivals in tow over C&D in mid-January. A 2lb hike is very manageable and he can get another win in with fitness on his side. GUY is respected now down in class and is trip suited for the Twiston-Davies boys.

IRON HORSE returned from a brief and fruitless chasing campaign to land a most promising 2nd at 22/1 over C&D in mid-December. That was his first run in 401 days so he should be fitter and ready to put forth another excellent effort, with his rider taking 3lb off today. PUNXSUTAWNEY PHIL is respected having posted a couple of respectable efforts in defeat against tougher company. He could trike back down in class.
