BARNBOUGLE posted his best effort to date when 3rd over C&D back in November. A solid draw of 2 might be enough to build on the effort in a contest lacking much depth on paper. KENNEDY outran 12/1 odds to find 3rd over C&D on debut and can find herself in the mix with normal improvement.

Race 2 – Kenilworth Racecourse
PROMETTERE showed ample promise in 3 outings under the care of Dean Kannemeyer. He has since been gelded and is now under the Vaughan Marshall banner. He can make plenty of improvement on these terms and has a nice draw to do so. ROSH KEDESH was sent off favourite when 3rd over 6f here on debut. He can build on that nicely and will know more about it today.

MADISON BLUES has improved measurably with each of his 5 outings to date. Last seen 2nd over 9f, he can go one better if sticking to the plotted course now afforded another furlong of run. SELLUKWE fared better than the raw result when 7th over 8f here latest. His prior efforts are strong and he’s expected to relish the return to 10f from pole positon.

FUTURE SWING reopened the account by a neck over C&D in a similar event earlier in the month. He has a slightly better draw and could notch the double with normal improvement. GIMMIE A STAR has won thrice in 7 starts and makes plenty of appeal on comeback run. He has gone well fresh in the past and could benefit from a recent gelding operation.

MONTIEN notched back to back 2nd placings in his first couple of outings before putting the lessons to work to score cosily over C&D latest. He should be much sharper for that effort and can double down if able to overcome the wide draw. PREVALENCE has been holding his own in stronger fields than this since winning his maiden in September. He had found 3rd here the last twice and could prove mighty dangerous down in grade.

SHANTASTIC has been doing excellent work over sprint trips and makes plenty of appeal now tackling 7f once more. DESERT ROSE was a superb all-the-way winner over 8f here latest and could defy the wrath of the assessor now dropping in trip once more.

HOLD MY HAND couldn’t land a blow in a Grade 1 over C&D latest but has every chance of a revival of fortunes here. Her prior 3rd at that level over 8f here is solid and she’s capable of capitalising here. FUN ZONE has been coming to the boil lately and could prove a big player if taking to the 9f.

BLUFF ON BLUFF was within 2 ½ lengths of the front when 9th in a valuable spring over 5f here latest. Another go off the same mark in a much simpler grade he can go very well. WYLIE JACK is also coming off the back of a solid effort in defeat in a much stronger field. He could prove the danger over his winning C&D.

HUNTING TRIP couldn’t secure a hat trick when upped to Grade 2 over C&D latest. She was far from disgraced in 8th and can bounce back immediately in much calmer waters following a short rest. DISTINCTION has a similar profile but the standard of the race wasn’t as high. Still her 2nd here latest can’t be ignored and she has every chance with sights lowered.
