CAPTAIN BROOMFIELD showed promise winning between the flags in Ireland before changing hands for £65,000. He took another step forward when ½ a length 2nd over this trip at Haydock at the end of December on yard bow for Emma Lavelle. With that under his belt he could take plenty of beating. JUDICIAL LAW is respected having won well in heavy going at Exeter but will do very well to concede 7lb to the selection.

Race 2 – Huntingdon Racecourse
SHALLOW RIVER was a pleasing 4th on yard bow for Fergal O’Brien before managing to edge out a victory by a neck at Wincanton on Boxing Day. Now headed into the hurdle ranks he can go very well for a powerful yard. BIG BOY BOBBY showed ample talent on the flat and made a pleasing shift to hurdling when 2nd on yard bow for Alan King. He should have plenty more to come now running with experience.

Race 3 – Huntingdon Racecourse
ROYAL RUBY dominated rivals when home with 23 lengths in hand on chased bow at Stratford back in July. The further 11lb hike saw Nicky Henderson’s 10 year old not disgraced in 3rd on return there. The winner and runner up have both franked the form handsomely so he can get right back on top on return to this ideal trip despite a further 2lb hike. ONLY MONEY is a C&D winner who returned to winning ways when victorious with a powerful 9 length lead at Leicester latest. He will feel the 7lb rise but should remain competitive.

Race 4 – Huntingdon Racecourse
LEGAL RIGHTS is in top shape for the red-hot Gary Moore team. He has done just enough to win his last couple of starts and has a nice hat trick on the line. A further 7lb rise can be weathered as he goes up in trip. PRESENT VALUE had 4+ in hand when scoring on yard bow for Jamie Snowden at Leicester last month. A 5lb hike won’t stop him from contesting this one either.

Race 5 – Huntingdon Racecourse
VIENNA COURT was 10 lengths behind the reopposing MASKADA last they met at Bangor-on-Dee. She has won twice since and subsequently gone up 20lb in ratings. She can put her recent progression and proven stamina hard to work to both reverse the form having landed a G3 latest. MASKADA won’t lie down but hasn’t done nearly as much improving as the selection. There was plenty to like about her win at this level at Leicester 16 days ago but she will still have to do very well to shut down he selection’s hat trick bid.

Race 6 – Huntingdon Racecourse
GAZETTE BOURGEOISE has been in good shape since October, including a Hereford win that saw the runner up boost the form since. He is up 10lb but is in great shape to keep progressing. TIP TOP CAT demands respect as he lines up for a 4 streak after an effortless Taunton win at the end of December. A further 6lb rise could anchor him but he has a strong chance to secure the accolade for the mighty Fergal O’Brien team.

Race 7 – Huntingdon Racecourse
QUEEN OF THE COURT was a powerful 12 length winner at Taunton on just her 2nd outing over fences. A 10lb hike seems fair and she can double down now having tasted success over an ideal trip. ALRIGHT CHIEF finally got over the line when home with 8 in hand after being well-backed over C&D on Boxing Day. A 6lb rise is workable and he can offer plenty of resistance to the selection.

Race 8 – Huntingdon Racecourse
HERMES LE GRIS showed a lot to like when 2nd behind a useful sort on debut over this trip at Catterick. He was not disgraced as beaten favourite and now with that under his belt he can go one better for the Greatrex yard. RAMBO T came within ½ a length of the front when 3rd on debut for Olly Murphy at Newbury and should also be in the mix.
