Race 2 – Greyville Racecourse
RIDE THE LIGHTNING returns from a few months off following a couple of victories by a neck, including over C&D in late December. This is an uphill battle but Garth Puller’s filly looks capable. DIAMONDS ‘N DUST has done some of her best work on this surface and rates a clear danger with 2 wins and 2 placings from 4 outings over C&D.

Race 3 – Greyville Racecourse
GENTLE RAIN caught the eye in 4th on debut for Willem Nel. With that to work from and the best of the draws, he could get his way now tackling the Polytrack. APOLLO ELEVEN played his hand too early when beating none home over the extended mile here. Now under the Van Vuuren banner, he could make amends with a disciplined ride.

Race 4 – Greyville Racecourse
LAKE COMO needed the run when 2 lengths 5th over the turf track here on comeback back in March. He’s given us glimpses of promise in the past and looks a sort to progress from a nice draw of 2. ULTIMATE JEWEL learned enough on debut to put in a much-improved ¾ length 4th over C&D latest. A similar effort could see him involved in the finish once more.

Race 5 – Greyville Racecourse
RED ROSA showed a determined attitude to get home over C&D by a head at the start of April. She’s going to have to dig deep to do it again under penalty but is best-drawn to do so. SHAKEN NOT STIRRED wasn’t great over turf at Scottsville latest but her 5 length 6f win here back in February sees her feared and respected for Duncan Howells.

Race 6 – Greyville Racecourse
WEDDING BLISS makes strong appeal as she tackles to the AW for the first time. She’s trip suited and is well-drawn to bring home some plunder for Michael Nicholas Houdalakis. SIEGE OF ORLEANS can be hit and miss for Doug Campbell but has been in strong form of late. If she keeps her standard up she can contest the finish over what can prove an ideal CD.

PETRA is a C&D winner who is in good shape of late, including 3rd over 7f here latest. She’s got the best of the draws and Anton Marcus back in the plate so can go very well. DUBAWI PRINCESS should be fighting fit for a solid C&D 3rd at the end of March. She’s found the frame in both surface outings and looks promising for Sean Tarry.

HIGHER PURPOSE is respected back from 252 days off, he was in ripe form back in 2021 and if he can pick up where he left off he’s a big chance from gate 1. GIMME A RAINBOW is a reliable sort who has been doing good work in defeat. A 2 time C&D winner with a nice draw, we can expect him to offer plenty of resistance.
