Now dropped 2lb, reunited with Kieren Buckley and his 5lb claim and going over a shorter trip we could see him deliver on the promise he has shown. CLEAR THE RUNWAY has shown promise in all 3 outings over timber and the Morgan string is in good heart of late. Last seen a decent 5th at Plumpton we may see him benefit from a drop in trip.

Race 2 – Fakenham Racecourse
GLUTINFORPUNISHMENT took a big step in the right direction when 2nd by a length on yard bow for the Wadham team. That was his first run in nearly 400 days so we can expect a similar if not better attempt with Bryony Frost retaining the ride. SURE TOUCH could offer stiff resistance having shown promise in a couple of outings in these ranks. The tongue-tie is tried out and we could have a big effort from this Olly Murphy charge.

Race 3 – Fakenham Racecourse
CAPTAIN CUCKOO was a solid enough 2nd in a 3 horse race on return from wind surgery 11 days ago. We could see it convert into a maiden win for this 10 year old now dropped in trip and class for Mark Gillard. ROSTELLO could fire up having won with some authority on Boxing Day but is up 6lb. The tongue-tie and cheekpieces stay on so we could see further improvement.

Race 4 – Fakenham Racecourse
MIDNIGHT MARY didn’t fare well in the heavy ground at Warwick latest but was a convincing winner at Doncaster prior. The tongue-tie stays on and she’s entitled to bounce back off an unchanged mark. TINY TANTRUM got back into the swing of things when 2nd over C&D latest and could go one better off just 1lb higher.

DOUKAROV won with 7+ in hand over this trip at Newbury and lost nothing in defeat when 3rd trying to back it up off 6lb higher. A similar showing to either now down 1lb could see him right back on top. FAIRWAY FREDDY has been holding his own somewhat well at higher levels and could surprise.

BOUNCE BACK went down by a head when runner-up on debut at Wetherby after being sent off favourite. With that under her belt, Archie Watson’s filly could go one better now upped in trip. MISTRAL NELL is worth a closer look on debut as a well-bred sort.
