TRACY’S PRINCESS settled for 2nd best on yard bow for Sharon Kotzen over C&D back in April. That piece of form makes her look hard to oppose here. MAKE IT HAPPEN is arguably more effective over the 7 – 8 furlong range but has shown aptitude enough to be able to contest a race of this nature.

V V POWER suffered a major misfire on Friday when beating none home over 5f on turf here. That was too bad to be true and Gavin Smith’s charge is afforded a chance at redemption on return to the AW, provided he takes his place. MY LORD AND MASTER was similarly somewhat lacking here on Friday but has solid claims on prior form and could also make some amends.

Race 4 – Fairview Racecourse
MAGIC MOMENTS went too hard too early on local/yard debut for Sharon Kotzen when 3rd over the mile. A more disciplined rider and the benefit of extra yardage can see her take another step forward. GIFT OF GIVING is progressing nicely since joining Gavin Smith, finding the frame in both runs. Her latest 2nd by a neck sees her a serious danger.

MHLABENI has returned to winning ways after a fair display over the mile here in early April. He looks the type to have further scope for improvement and is expected to put forth another solid bid now upped in trip again. IRISH RAIN has been in fair form since joining Cliffie Miller and while widely drawn could definitely pull something off with normal improvement.

Race 6 – Fairview Racecourse
GOLIGHTLY has become a whole new filly since joining Alan Greeff, winning 3 of 5 starts, including twice over C&D and the other over the turf track here. She’s had a short rest to recover and looks primed to continue her rich vein of form despite conceding weight all round. GLOBAL GODDESS is respected having trekked all the way from the Western Cape. There must be some confidence among her connections and she’s worth watching.

DUKE OF ORANGE has been improving notably since joining Gavin Smith. His maiden win came over C&D on his penultimate outing and he wasn’t disgraced when ½ a length 3rd over the mile here since. VIDA FUTURA is interesting on local/yard debut for Alan Greeff and has Greg Cheyne in the irons. If he takes to the Polytrack he’s capable of plenty.

AFTER THE STORM was a pleasing 33/1 winner over C&D latest in what looks to be fairly strong race. A similar effort can see a nicer double from Cliffie Miller’s filly. PRINCESS OF WINTER misfired a bit when 6th over the extended 6f here latest. A drop back to 5f can see her back to the standard that has seen her win or place 6 starts running.
